Horse question?

my horse has started kicking the floor with her near side hind leg, any ideas why? she has just recently had thrush could that be anything to do with it?

Answers:
Could you provide a little more detail about the problem. Is she inside a stall or outside when whis is happening? Is she kind of stamping her foot or kicking out behind her. Are her ears forwards or back while she is doing this. Is there any other animals around her at the time? Is she eating while she does this? Is she kicking because you are trying to pick her foot up? How old is she, how long have you had her? I'll try to answer when I have more info about the problem.
Sweet itch?
depends who's lying on the floor when she is kicking it
Maybe she's bored? Have you been taking her out? What have you changed in her environment? How old is she?

Does she do this in her stall or on the field?

My horse used to kick the wall when she didn't like the horse next door. Then she'd dig with either front hoof like the counting horse in the circus.
has your horse had it's feet trimmer, or been shod recently? if so your farrier may have trimmer that hoof to short
My horse used to do this alot when stbled for to long, an my vet told me it was due to itchy feet or heels and or bordom! He is now out more an has stopped it until i bring him in for exercise!
Horses will kick with one hind leg sometimes if they feel a little crampy in the "gut". If it is only happening sometimes, then she could feel a little colicky. They kick out when they are a little "gasey". It's like us have a mild stomach ache. Thrush doesn't usually affect the horse to make them kick out. But if the thrush is still there, you need to resolve that problem too. Make sure she is in a clean, dry stall. Bleach soaks several times a day on the infected foot would help dry up the thrush. There are several remedies sold at local feed stores. "Thrush Busters" has always worked well on several horses that I have treated for people in the past. The bleach soaks and applying thrush busters 2 times a day should clear up the thrush pretty quickly.
Boredom is my first guess.
I don't know much about horses so can't help
