I have a chance for a field where i could keep a colt to eventually show as a stallion section A, but i don,t?

want it alone, have thought buy 2 have one gelded should be pals if thay grow together, does anyone know if this would work ? or have you any ideas ? Would buy has foals. Do not want it to be stabled all the time and nowhere keen to have stallion on livery. Unable to keep at present yard with my other horse

each horse varies as to who you can keep with what, I've had mares so aggressive that they always had to be fielded by themselves. Colts can live together until they become to ruff with each other as in playing or aggression. Time for seperation is due on there own characteristics alone. A gelding and colt together would be fine as long as you don't have mares around in heat that will fire up his internal aggression. Again, nobody can predict how to animals will get along until they are together. If I was you, I would try to find myself a nice tuff gelding who won't put up with the younger ones antics. As long as the two arn't fielded next to mares in heat, you will be fine.

Stallions will have issues with any horse, no matter what sex they are, gelded or not. Really, you should keep him by himself as he get older. You don't want to run the risk of him, or the other horse getting hurt.
Some stallions get along with every horse you put them with, but it's rare.
have you really got time for 3 horses its a lot of work and a lot of money in vet and blacksmith.
think carefully
good luck
Two stallions together is not a good idea, and the stallion would be frustrated with a male, as he has allsorts of hormones telling him to mount a mare. Therefore he will probably get stressed with a male horse there. And unless you want a foal, getting a mare isn't a good idea either.

Don't really like the idea of keeping animals entire, i.e. without gelding or castrating, unless you are going to breed. It's not fair on them. Don't agree with breeding either. Plenty of horses out there being sold to slaughterhouses because they are unwanted.

Keeping animals away from each other just so they don't get hurt is cruel. Horses are herd animals, they are not meant to, and do not like, being kept on their own.
have you ever been around a stallion. what do you know about how to keep them. in all my years of being around horses i never saw a stallion kept with any other horse. they were always by them selves. they are difficult to manage at best even for professional handlers unless you fall into the category I would stay away from owning one.
Horses are herd animals, but you don't need a second horse to keep him company. Goats and llamas can be a good second companion. Many racing stables use them to keep a stallion company.
a stallion will have a problem with any horse, i would keep him alone until he's a lot older.
also, as I'm sure you know horses are quite expensive, so having so many horses will add up with all the vet and farrier bills, not counting other little things that might come up..
now, i LUV horses, but only have one myself, a nd he's prettty expensive, i don't know what breed you are looking at but.
good luck!
Having raised horses for many years, and many stallions, this is not a good workable situation. Stallions can be very agressive towards other males horses (gelded or not) even if they grow up with them. And of course you cannot keep them with mares. A stallion needs to be kept somewhere that has very strong fences to avoid breaking out if they smell a mare in the area. Unless you are well equipped to handle a full grown stallion (high wall stall and strong heavy fences), geldings are much better and safer. We geld almost stallion we foal, unless they are just superior animals.Geldings are much more in demand since they are just so much more dependable.
You to do a spell check on your question.
Stallions are kept alone with a alley way inbetween the pens of the other horses for a reason.
Most satllions will hurt a gelding. They wil fight with one and do it harm or kill it if left alone long enough. That is the nature of a stallion. They are not kept in a field with other horses unless it is a band of mares. They will herd the mares and bite them also.
That is why people do not keep stallions with the others.
Ours was in his own paddock and stall but had a 8 foot space between his fence and the other fence where the mares were kept.
Unless you have you're own land keeping you're colt as an entire isn't a wise decision, stallions are a handful at the best of times, but keeping him with another horse is out the question as they are herd animals and enjoy company, you could get a goat or a llama, but you are very unlikely to find a livery yard that will take him on, I'm in a similar boat myself at the moment my mare gave birth a few months ago, and if I do not find a piece of land to rent/buy I'm going to have to get Kevin gelded (he is a Selle Francais, a rarity in this country, and an excellent breeding prospect)
Even if you do have you're colt gelded you will still be able to show him. Hope you get sorted.
ttfn ;o)
Stallions are a lot of work and can be dangerous if not handled or trained properly. Are you sure you want one? Are you intending to breed it later? That should be the only reason to keep a stallion.

Stallions can be very unpredictable. My friend kept her stallion isolated from the rest of the horses, and he was very good natured. He could see and hear them, but that was all.
