cant you even drink water?
hi there hun. i think you best see your doctor but ive heard having a ginger biscuit and a glass of milk will calm things down a bit.try a cuppa tea or hot choc?
What about popsicles? Or soups? Or fresh fruits like oranges or watermelon? Those are all other ways you can get liquid in you.
Have you tried water with lemon or lemonade? A lot of PG moms tolerate that well and lemon can help with nausea.
Or mint teas?
What about ginger ale?
Keep some food on your belly at all times to help with the nausea as well. Then small, frequent sips of liquid.
water or iced tea cures anything
you have to be sick
but drink water-neutral stuff
it's great
I had this, the metal taste is awful, I used to try and work out if it was more like metal or sour milk!! Only thing that worked for me was sipping water and eating ginger biscuits. And this didn't always work! Don't worry, it should be gone by three month mark!
Try drinking Gatorade.see if that helps
I found I got very thirsty when I had high blood pressure, go back to your doctor for advise, I also found that eating granny smith apples helped to quench my thirst I couldn't get enough of them, then when I had my son I never ate another one for years.
I had this problem when I was pregnant.. suck on ice cubes.
Don't take large gulps of drink, take small sips frequently. Won't stop the vomiting, but will help to keep up your fluid levels. Water or weak squash is best.
Best bet - ask the nurse at your surgery.
try ice cubes cos your not really drinking them but you still get your fluid..good luck to you both! x
Yup, i cant drink anything, it doesnt taste metalic it just upsets my stomach, i find drinking juices or water arent as upsetting, which i never drank water or juice before. all drinks make me sick to my stomach
Here are 2 things that worked for me. First is a cherry limade. Second is a recipe for limeade.
4 limes
a bunch of ice
2 cups water
Blend together till completely crushed. Strain into a pitcher, add water and sugar to taste. These were great thirst quenchers for me and surprisingly, never gave me heartburn.
google it, "metalic taste in mouth" you should get a plethora of information!
Ice cubes!
I ate loads when I was preggers rather than drinking?
get the doctor to check your blood sugars,
Are you diabetic? Do you get shaky and sweaty at all? Metalic taste in your mouth and incredible thirst could be related to your sugar levels, of which they usually don't test for until your around your 23rd week.
This may also be a phase or related to the vitimins you are taking. Also check your iron levels.
I drank tons of gatorade and powerade during my pregnancy because water and milk made me sick to my stomach.
If you are having trouble keepinjg even liquid down you really need to see your doctor. You could be suffering from hyperemesis and need treatment to avoid getting seriously dehydrated - not good for you or your baby.
Although some nausea/sickness in pregnancy is considered "normal", being so ill you can't take liquids is NOT and you need to be treated.
There are antiemetics which are safe for use in pregnancy which can be prescribed for anyone who is finding it hard to even take in liquids. You may also need to go to hospital to be rehydrated through a drip if you have become very seriously dehydrated.
This does not sound like a "normal" part of early pregnancy. Get some help as soon as you can, please.
take "Gaviscon" then take a drink, that should help to settle your stomach. i was lucky i had no sickness.
ginger is known to stop the sicky feeling s maybe somr ginger tea to stop the thurst an vomiting all at once
I have been in your shoes hon. I was so thirsty at that point and couldn't keep much down either. I sipped on gingerale and crackers for so many weeks, and now I am almost 16 weeks along and feeling better. It was hard just sipping and not being able to just gulp something down when I was so thirsty, but I got through it. I also ate a lot of popcicles to try and keep hydrated. Eventually, I just decided to drink something, and if I threw it up, I just threw it up, but at least I wouldn't feel so thirsty! LOL It's rough, and I wish you the best. Hang in there hon.. it does get better! :)
