Im so scared i will never get pregnant because of my pcos?
I discovered i had pcos 5 years ago and have been trying for a baby since and have found it real difficult. I was advised by my specialist at my fertility clinic that of i didn't loose weight he would not treat me so i lost so much weight, i went from a size 22 to a 14 and went on Clomid but was not succesful and like many others it made me so emmotional i drove my partner crazy because all i ever did was cry when i was taking it. I hav since come off clomid as it also made me gain weight and then had constant bleeding for 12 weeks and am waiting until the end of this month before i go back to my specialist for my next lot of treatment but i just know he will tell me to loose weight again!! My worst nightmare is that i will never get pregnant and live my dream of becoming a mummy.

Hello,
I have PCOS & have had since i was 17 years old, i am now 23 & 11 weeks pregnant with my first baby. When myself & my partner started trying for a baby i had heard a few thing may help the process which if you are keen enough for a baby.you will try.
1) Lose weight if needed, i lost 3 & a half stone, went from 13 stone to 9 stone & 5 lbs. Improves your BMI.
2) Quit smoking (and your partner if they smoke, it is a proven fact that smokers find it harder to conceive)
3) Drink plenty of water (i drink at least 3 litres a day) but as long as you drink at least 1 - 1 & a half litres it will help, flushes your body out & keeps you healthy (and very good for skin).
4) Maybe do a little expercise, i walked a mile every evening.
These all are supposed to help, for the first 6 months i was sat worrying & stressing about how long it was going to take as nothing was happening, but after changing my lifestyle a little & helping my body get healthier i concieved in 9 months, naturally.
Dont sit & worry about how long its taking, this will only make it worse, take it as it comes & as soon as your body is ready it should throw it at you when you least expect it, like it has me. I am due the same day as my mums wedding & counting the days back from my 1st scan i conceived on my 23rd birthday!! Made it all even more special.
Good luck, i hope it all goes well.

It sounds like you need meditation or maybe hypnotherapy - perhaps as well as physical treatment.
I know what you mean. I can totally understand. I have the same problem. Hang in there, it has got to get better. My prayers are with you.
hi i am going through the same thing,me and my partner were trying for another baby (we already have one) for about a year when i thought i should go to the doctors and get checked out because my periods have been virtualy non existent, any way i was diagnosed on tuesday and the doctor suggested lots of different treatments to get pregnant including clomid and said that it shouldnt take too long if i followed what they tell me to do!
hopefully i will have a baby soon!
my fingers are crossed for you and hope you go to the doctors and ask their advice!
good luck x
You should try a different doctor. I have PCOS and I am currently a size 14. My doctor has no problem treating me and doesn't get on me about my weight. He wants me to be mental stable instead of a wreak thinking about my weight. Going from a 22 to 14 is a big drop and should help increase your chances. You doctor should make you feel comfortable about yourself and the situation.
IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatment; IUI, ICSI and Laparoscopic surgery is very cheap in India. The cost is very low and the medical services are very good in India.
My cousin and her husband got their IVF treatment in India through the Forerunners Healthcare in India and is all praise for this company. She is a known case of PCOS.She is a very happy mother of a baby boy now. She just paid 2500 pounds for the full IVF treatment in India for which she was quoted 8000 pounds in private setup in UK.
Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the newspapers. I have also read about a Chinese couple who planned surrogacy through the Forerunners Healthcare. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery and infertility treatment like IVF, IUI, and ICSI abroad for low price. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery and treatment can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hi i have pcos and tried for ages to get pregnant with no luck.
I had all tests etc. I just so happened to try herbs and the next month i was pregnant. I now have 3 children.
Don't know if it was just coincidence or whether the herbs really worked but i think that thery did.
Have you ever thought about trying natural remedies. you never know they might help !
I also have PCOS and am not yet in a position where I need to worry about pregnancy, but it is still an issue for me, so I totally empathise with you. I have read a number of success stories using herbal remedies and accupuncture, as well as diet being a big influence in PCOS, as in not what you weigh, but what you eat. I wish you all the best, and hope it works out dfor you
I discovered about the same time (5 years ago) that I have PCOS also. This June, I was told I am a likely candidate 95% sure that I would never have kids.
I was very disappointed. I was offered 3 procedures from my gynaecologist, but thought these were very invasive. It is not life threatening I thought, and said I'm a big believer in nature taking its course. There are medicine out there, like the pill to regulate your period, and I didn't want that option. I was given Metformin. This brings the hormone level somewhat regular in your body. I was told to loose weight and I'm only a size 12! Most people can take this tablet, but this gave me whoppers of headaches and couldn't take them any more. I found out a few weeks ago that I am pregnant.. I took a test and couldn't believe my eyes. I thought it was a faulty test and took another one a few days after. Went to the doctor and he confirmed it.
Don't worry about it, easy to say but hard to do. You need to be healthy and well within yourself first and that is a great start for you. It will happen for you and you will be a great mother.
Best of luck to you.
Hi, I was sorry to read about your experiences, but please stay positive. I am not in your position and cannot imagine the pain you must be going through, but I hope it happens for you very soon. Mrs Beckham has also got pcos, and look at her, she has 3 kids. Her problem is the opposite - she is toooo skiny and this can also have adverse effects on the body. So, please, remain positive - a positive mental attitude can play a great role in success.
