Not always, My baby was engaged 3 weeks before his due date and came 4 days early. They can be engaged for ages. When it is your first, you wake up every day though knowing that it could be today!

Not necessarily..but likely to be quite soon as it means the baby`s head is getting lower in mum`s pelvis and will likely to keep getting closer to delivery point! Good Luck!
Head being engaged just means that it in the right position in your pelvis area ready for when you give birth. My daughters' heads were engaged at 34 weeks and were born at 40+4 and 40+2 weeks. Just means that the baby is in the right position to give birth, not that it will be any sooner or later.

I'm afraid there is no way of knowing when you're baby is going to appear, it's all down to Mother Nature and you just have to stick it out. My baby is 14 weeks old and I was always trying to work out if he woul come early for one reason or another but at the end of the day, he came when he was good and ready! Best of luck and enjoy every second of your new adventure.

I was fully engaged and had a show and my baby wasnt born for another 3 weeks!

i saw my midwife last wednesday, im 39 weeks, due in exactly 1 week 2morrow, she told me the head was down and gettin ready but i could still go 12 days over my date, in other words,it will come when its ready. ive had weird pains all weekend but nothin movin yet, good luck.

This is a good sign on impending labor. It does not mean that you will be in labor today but that body is preparing for the delivery.
Bbys head can be engaged for a long time before labour starts, my friends baby droped at 7 months, yet she was over a week late. Dont worry, your baby will come when he'she is ready
Sometimes things that midwifes say can be a bit confusing but having an engaged head is good sign so relax as much as you can. If I was you I would make the most of this time before delivery, pamper yourself and enjoy being the centre of attention. When my midwife told me my daughter's head was engaged it didn't seem to make much difference, she was still 9 days late. You'll go into labour when time is right.
absolutely not. my sisters baby has been head down since 26 weeks. the baby will come when they're ready. good luck x
maybe here earlier than you expected, but it all depends on when the baby wants to get here. I was told my baby was fully engaged around 38wks but i went to 41wks before he came out. a bit lazy i think lol
