D&C Questions?

I had a misscarriage about 4-5 weeks ago & I had to get a D&C done 3 days ago cuz the baby wasn't expelling itself.

I'm only asking this on here because I hate to call my doctors office. The receptionist is evil.

How long until I stop bleeding? They told me 2 days & I'm on day 3 & still bleeding like a normal/light period. I didn't know how long this should last.

Also, when is it safe to start taking the pill again?

Any advice is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

hey babygirl,
i'm so sorry you're not having the same experience I did with no bleeding. I think you can give it the rest of today and if by tomorrow your bleeding is no lighter call the doctor. screw that wretched receptionist(pardon my language). you need to start your pill on Sunday.(The first sunday after the start of your period, even though this is a forced period). I will be thinking of you and praying for you. stay strong love.
Sorry about the miscarriage. I had a D&C a year ago, I bled for a couple days like a regular period. But about the birth control they gave me the shot a week later when I went for my followup appointment.
to get help call nhs 24 or the local maternity hospital and you will get the correct advise from a professional
I bled for about 2 weeks after a d&c. You can start the pill again after a cycle passes.
Sorry to hear about that. My sister had two D & C's and bled for about a week both times. Her Gynaecologist told her it was normal as everyone is different. Although the 2nd time they hadnt properly removed it all, hence the bleeding but by day 7 it came out like normal clotting during a heavy period. She was advised that she could take the pill again once she had her 1st period after the D & C. Dont be afraid to contact your doctor. These are times that need a certain degree of consideration and all too often receptionists dont have this!! Good luck. x
I bled for about a week
my heart goes out to you I hope you are getting some support I found it surprising how many women came out of the woodwork and told me the same had happened to them.
Stay strong I did now mummy to little Boy who will be 1 next month
