When to stop sterilizing baby bottles?

my baby is nearly 10 month and was wondering how long u have to go on sterilizing

Answers:
My daughter is 13 months and I am still doing it, when will it ever end.
never
until they are one
if your baby is on the smallish side though i would do them for a bit longer..
I'd Say Atleast 18 Months.
Easy for bacteria to get caught in those. recommend always doing it. An easier way to do it is to leave them in the freezer overnight instead of boiling.
Once you have started them on solids.

If you are still bottle feeding, it is still a good idea to steralise them before use.
my health visitor said at 12 months.
I stopped when my daughter was one but my friend stopped when her daughter was 6 months and it didn't do her any harm! It's such a pain!
sterilise them until they are off them.
When your baby is on solid food with an occasional bottle there is not much use anymore. It is smart to still occasionally do it as it is a really good way to clean them out.
i stopped when they were 12 months old. then you can give them ordinary cows milk too.
Do it until she doesnt use them anymore..sterilising is always the best way to clean them, bottle brushes dont do the job properly and you can only reach so far. Sterilise until you dont have to bottle feed anymore.
Keep sterilising until you stop using the bottles or put them through the dishwasher to ensure they are thoroughly cleaned
Ive had 4 children and always been told 12 months
They say to do it for up the first year but to be honest, you only really need to do it until they are moving around on the floor, just think how many times the baby has her fist in her mouth. You cant sterilize their hands. With my first child i sterilized for the whole year and it is a pain in the a** but with my second child i only didi it for about 6months
They say around one but you may as well carry on whilst she is using them, milk bottles can cause some nasty tummy bugs if they arent cleaned properly. You wont need to sterilise tippy cups when she starts those for juice and stops milk, like i say its the milk that causes the nasty germs.
I stopped sterilizing bottles when my babies were crawling around and were able to put things into their mouths. You can only do so much to make sure your kids don't pick up every germ around but aside from enclosing them in a bubble, you can't shield them from everything. If you use a dishwasher to wash your baby bottles, they are sterilized in the drying process-there isn't any need to go the extra step of putting them in boiling water.
As long as your baby is feeding from the bottle do sterilize. Its better to take precaution than to pocket the doctor's bill.
12 months.
You really shouldn't stop but cleaning the bottle with a bottle brush and hot soapy water should be good enough.
K- think of me as weird. If you wouldn't drink out of it, then neither should your child. Some bacteria is good for your child. My daughter will be 2 this month, and has had a cold once in her life. Mainly if you can keep them out of daycare, then that is a bigger deal than having a sterile environment. I work fulltime, I just do opposite shifts from my husband. Not possible for everyone, but that is the biggest sterilization concern at this age. If your child is in daycare, then not much you can do. If not, then just be sure to clean their bottles and sippy cups in the hottest water possible with dishsoap and make sure that it is as clean as possible. Of course, that never changes even with our glasses.
I sterlized for 11 months. Was going to for 12 but then figured that children pick things off the ground and share toys with other children which they put in their mouths anyway. SO really, once they hit that age there's no point. You can't sterlize everything. I still boil the water though, and make sure you still wash the bottles in hot soapy water. :)
The only time you stop sterilizing baby bottles is when you throw them in the trash.
you can stop sterilizing bottles and pacifiers after 4 months. their digestive systems and immune systems are developed. My pediatrician says you don't need to sterilize after the initial sterilization., but I did it anyway.
I would feel safe doing so, I quit after sbout 4 or 5 months.
It's more on how you feel about it at this point.
Ask your babies pediatrition, call his/hers doctors office this morning and ask someone. Maybe you can speak to the doctor directly or his nurse can call you with the babies charts and they can help you to make your desicion.
I hope this helps you mommy!
p.s. When you stop just make sure you rinse very well and air dry them on a towel. I had bought some giant ziplocks to store my clean and even the "sterolized" bottles clean and safe from what-ever. I never did like the dishwasher because of films left behind or like you always hear of people scrapping with their nails. dont put them in the dishwasher.
My daughter is also 10mths and i stopped sterilizing her bottles at around three months.simply for the fact that she was always on the floor playing and putting things in her mouth.I did however make sure that when it came time to wash her bottles, they were washed thouroughly in hot soapy water that had not had any other dishes washed in it and that they were rinsed in very hot water and left to air dry.
12 mths.
you don't stop as long as the baby is on the bottle!
I would stop now and use the dish washer it heats the water hot enough to sterilize your bottles. My doctor told me once I started feeding my baby and they were crawling by then think it was 8 months.
My daughter was 6 months old when i stopped sterilizing. But i put the bottles in the dishwasher on the hotest wash. I read all the books and some said 6 months and some said 12 months. Do what you feel comfortable with. You could give it a go and see how your baby is with it. If she starts being sick or pooing more than go back to it.
i stopped at 3 months and now just put them in the dishwasher i was told its just as good as a steriliser. i dont sterilise his spoons and bowls so its the same thing.
