31 weeks pregnant im getting fed up i want a job, will someone employ me if i say i dont want maternity leave?

Answers:
You don't want maternity leave? You can't have baby on your coffee break and then pop back afterwards. Believe me, after the birth, you are going to want to rest in hospital for a couple days and then in home after. Plus, who's going to look after a newborn baby when it needs its mommy?

I know you're eager to get to work, but wait until at least a month after the birth. Then at least you would have established some sort of routine with the baby, and he/she can be left in someone else's care if you decide to work.
a corner shop might?
Companies can not reject you from getting a job because you are pregnant. If you are qualified and you don't get the job, or if they hint that its because of you being pregnant contact the labour board and report them.
don't know what state you are in
most states prohibit discriminating against pregnancy
but most employers don't want to train someone who will be out a lot - try working for agency like OfficeTeam, AppleOne, Accountemps or other temporary agency near you. These are not permanent jobs, so you won't run into the problems you have been getting.
by law you have to take maternity leave. its not a legal otherwise. even if its just a couple of weeks. you can try to get a job but most places wont hire you this far along. talk to your ob to make sure its safe to work. look at finding something you can do from home
9 weeks from now you won't want a job.

or you might to get a break.
dont no
So you planning to give birth during your lunchhour?
no, because legally they would have to give it to you, how about you get a part time job that you can work your own hours once the baby is born.
Legally they can't reject you or deny you maternity leave. But, they do it anyway.
sorry to say it but most jobs dont want to hire pregnant people. and since your so far that might not hire you because you will be a "high risk employee". or at least this is what happened to me and i was only 2 months at the time. they ask me if i was, i said yes then they explained how they couldnt hire me. good luck.
no i seriously doubt who in there right mind will hier someone for 8 weeks? unless its a temp job, ask ur doctor if u can work then apply for a temp job
Next to no companies PAY you for maternity leave. You have to take the time off when having the baby. Although it is against the law to discriminate pregnant women while hiring, but no sane place would hire a 31w preggers women.

Your best bet is to go through a temp agency, so you can get some temp work here & there.
I am looking for someone to deliver coal to top flats .Interested ?
You might get a temp job but no employer in their right mind is going to employ someone who is 6 months pregnant, knowing he will have to pay their maternity leave. Even if it were unpaid maternity leave, it would be inconvenient to the company to have a member of staff bugger off for 3 months just after they have spent all that effort training you.

sure, it might be illegal to discriminate against someone because they're pregnant, but try and prove it in a court of law. They'll just say sorry there was another candidate better suited for the job.

That's what I'd do if I were an employer I'm afraid.
You might have to look into a temporary service agency or Labor Ready type job where you can literally work one day and not the next if you don't feel like it. Whether you like it or not, you will have to be off at least two days with a new baby because you will be in the hospital. Some employers just don't want to take the time to start training and then have to re-train you when you get back because you won't remember what they've already taught you. If you don't get something soon, just wait until after the baby and then start job hunting.
Honestly, no. 99% of employers from good jobs to burger King wont hire you because they dont want to take on the risks involved. The are scared you might slip on a wet spot in the floor, lose the baby, and sue them. And ofcourse i dont know you, or what type of person you are. But i did feel the same way. I had a very high-risk pregnancy, and still wanted to work, but after i had her, I was thankin God no one hired me, because the months i stayed home with her after giving birth were the best of my life. I've never known anyone who didnt want maternity leave, just those who didnt get it. So its not a matter of maternity leave, its a matter of liability. ANd like i said, most employers WILL NOT take that on. You could try babysitting, personal house keeper, somethign like that. I know the jobs suck, but ifyou really need to work, that is all you will be offered, regardless of your work history, Good luck!
to be honest i no its boring but you should stay at home and relax this is the time you need to start reserving all your energy for when the baby comes and you might even need it for the nesting stage (cleaning the whole house)
although not everyone gets this.
good luck in whatever you decide
I'm 27 weeks pregnant and noone wants to employ me so I'd be surprised if anyone would take you on.
You be employed yes, but by law u have too take maternity leave on the 38th week of pregancy. And returning too work, by law u have 2 have 4 weeks off after the birth.
I have worked up until the 37th week, and now this is my first materity leave week
unfortunately by law you have to take at least the first 2 weeks off after giving birth, however should you wish to still get a job then no employer is allowed to discriminate against you but you may find it very hard to get a job and if you do you may find yourself too sleepy to go to work.
Hun, you cant get rejected from applying for jobs or even getting a job but you also need maternity leave. Ive been through the baby thng and it knocks you for six. You need the time off to bond with your baby and relax after pushing and going through labour for so long.
I hope you do find a job as it will help you in the long run. Government support is also available
You can still get a job as employers should be judging your skills and ability not your stage of pregnancy, I dont think you'd be eligible to maternity pay from your employer at this late stage anyway though.
If It's just boredom though why not start a college course - I'm 28 weeks pregnant and have just enrolled at college they are giving me 6 weeks off for the birth so I can home study.
Good luck anyway.
I doubt it haven't you got any sisters to go around and keep company with?
Well its your own fault for getting pregnant so stop complaing, take up a hobby, or rent some dvd's!
No employer should be able to discriminate against you because you are pg.
For goodness sake, in a few weeks you won't know what has hit you, enjoy the time you have left cos soon you won't have enough time to do anything for yourself. Good luck
i know how bored and frustrated you must feel but now isnt the time to get a job trust me. if you feel the need to keep busy why not look into volunteering for a few weeks in the care sector. you could also clean your houde from top to bottom that may supress your boredom. baby will be here soon then you will do anything to feel bored! good luck x
You DON'T WANT MATERNITY LEAVE - HAVE YOU NOT THOUGHT OF THE SLEEPLESS NIGHTS, you may have - my baby is 8 mths Old and has not slept through once - last night he had me up 4 time i had about 21/2 hrs sleep all night. If you can find a job that will let you sleep, go ahead and get one!!!
In the next 8wks you'll be glad of your time off. If you don't want maternity leave what you gonna do when baby born-or if intended and as most employers would presume you don't intend to return.
Why not take up a hobby like making cards you could make money if any good selling to family and friends-or even if they're rubbish they may take pity on you and buy anyway!!
Take it easy you are going to have that baby very soon, stress and strain on you may put you into premature labour. 9wks time you will be far from fed up. So have some You time before the big day.
Best off luck!
