I am 35 weeks pregnant with fourth child?
i have noticed that i receive strong jagging pains in my vagina from time to time and wonder what the cause of this is could any one help please
Answers:
This is common, it happened to me from 34 weeks and I gave birth at 42 weeks, so it was a painful 8 weeks. Sometimes I had to hold it just to be able to walk properly around the house, funny look.
This is your body preparing for childbirth. Our pelvic area actually pulls and dislocates to allow the child to pass through the birth canal, it is held together by tendons and moves back into place after the birth. It's uncomfortable, but as soon as you give birth, it will go. Congratulations on your pregnancy

just scratch it
Call your midwife and ask her - most people on here are not medically qualified! Good luck!
It's very common and nothing to worry about. I had them from 7 months onwards with my 3rd child but my friend got them with her first.I think it's just to do with the pressure, or baby sitting on a nerve. This baby will probably be bigger than the others. My 3rd was a pound heavier than the others.
Good Luck.
takes nothing to give midwife a quick call, better to be safe than sorry. Oh and good luck
this usually means the baby is pressing on a nerve....which in turn causes this sensation...
I think these could be the movement of baby, hitting parts of your anatomy further down which can be felt through your nether regions, I remember having similar pains but do go to Doctor or midwife to ease your mind that everything is okay.
go see your doctor now
My wife had same probs with our children whilst pregnant, after the first child she was told to do her pelvic floor exercises but she didnt and next time she got pregnant she had pains down there too.
It may just be that, but if I was you I would go and see a doc just too get checked out and be on the safe side.
Good luck with the birth
do u think its because the baby is quite big and still growing a bit? you r well over your 12 week dangerous time so im sure u will be okay but just to be on the safe side go and visit your doctor. maybe the baby is just pushing for extra space - dont worry as this is the worst thing u can do just keep calm and stress free and visit your doctor. it would be great if u could give us an update on what the doc said. have a good birth and keep calm. take care.
I had this with both of mine, they were both 8lb-ers. I had it really bad 2nd time round .especialy once labour had started. The stabbing pain was more painfull than the contractoins. I put this down to a nerve & fact i'd had 2 sweeps in a day & a nerve was being hit.
I had it slightly higher in position before labour which i contacted my doctor about & they told me it was the ligaments stretching as baby was gaining weight fast at this point & also getting engaged ready for labour. Ring your midwife or ring NHS direct (if in UK) for peace of mind, but my guess its the head becoming engaged & pressing on a nerve, but i am not a qualified medic.
Baby hitting a nerve I think. But call your midwife to be sure.
the experience in pregnancy is different in every woman,it could be the baby sitting on a nerve or something different the best thing for you to do it seek proper medical advice see your doctor and please dint hesitate..wish you well
