Folic Acid Help?

just woke up an realised i did not take one yesterday. is it ok to take 2 in 1 go??

No, but don't worry. Missing one dose won't do any harm, since folic acid is added to a lot of foods anyway.
Just continue taking the normal dose and stop fretting. There were a couple of days here and there when I forgot a tablet, and my daughter is fine. In fact, she survived the first four weeks when I didn't know I was pregnant, therefore not taking any folic acid. A missed dose occasionally won't hurt.

No but missing one won't do you or the baby much harm. Cavemen didn't have tablets and the human race is still here.
If u missed one then take it as soon as possible. Then later on that day or night take a second one. Then the next day you can continue taking it regulary.
If it's in pill-form I wouldn't risk it. But missing it one day really wont hurt you or your child. Eat healthy foods high in folic acid, such as broccoli, orange juice, etc.

Also, folic acid is most necessary BEFORE getting pregnant. After a few weeks of pregnancy it won't do anything to prevent spina bifida if it's already started to occur.
no - it is not worth panicking about. Don't take two - in fact throw them out and start eating green veg, it is much better for you and has all the right vits and minerals you need, including folic acid
I would just stick to one a day, missing one tablet really won't hurt. I would carry on taking for as long as you can though & not just up to the 12 week limit as it can only do good things for your baby!
Relax, these supplements are for people who don't eat enough whole grain products such as German whole grain bread, brown rice, etc. If you adopt that into your diet, those supplements won't be so daunting anymore (but by all means, keep taking them). And yes, two are fine.
well i stopped taking mine after 2 weeks cause it was making me badly constipated but the midwife told me it was ok to supplement it with cerals and bread and things that contain alot of folic acid! so dont worry taking 2 in one go just take the one and have some grape nut ceral that has loads of folic acid in it hope i helped chick xx
It's ok if you missed one, however it advises you on the information sheet just to take one as normal. Just try to take it with your breakfast everyday at about the same time. I carried on and seemed ok with that method one a day as recommended. ;-)
ask the doc. it may lead to toxicity, if you mess with vitamins and minerals, but i think it is ok, just ask the doctor, or leave a little time between taking both.

You need to take folic acid until just after your 12th week of pregnancy.

. if you are still worried eat some broccoli, spinach or other dark green veg that have plenty of folic acid in them. Remember that cerials and other products are fortified with folic acid along with other vitamins and minerals, so as long as you are eating good healthy meals on a regular basis then I would not worry too much, missing one dose will not effect the baby.

Beans and legumes
Citrus fruits and juices
Wheat bran and other whole grains
Dark green leafy vegetables
Poultry, pork, shellfish
Liver

You get folic acid it everyday foods you eat anyway, one missed tablet WONT make a difference.
Lots of people dont even know that their pregnant till much later on anyway.

Don't worry only one missed folic acid tablet wont make any difference. As long as you keep a balanced diet you will be fine. I regularly missed them with all three of pregnancies and they were all ok.
My consultant advised me that babies are the perfect parasite and will get everything they need from you regardless.
Don't take two, the one you missed wont harm you at all, taking two just might.
when i was having my kids we never took folic acid, my kids are all fine.
my daughter is 8 weeks and she's missed a day or 2, she got told never take 2, take one a.s.p and carry on with the tablets.

no just take it when you remember then take the next 1 as usual, i wont help you any better taking 2, if your due to take another 1 when you realise youve missed one just completly miss it out. congratulations anyway xx
it will make absoulutely no difference whatsoever!! it's not like taking the contraceptive pill, please don't fret, it will be fine.
just leave it but make sure u take 2days xxx
Hi. I think you may find that one tablet constitutes of the recommended daily allowance and therefore you should only take one.
I wouldn't worry about it. Just carry on today - one day not taking them will not matter!
