*This is a theoretical question*What would happen if yu got pregnant and didnt tell anyone and..?

gave birth to it at home and didn't register it, and home schooled it, then it would be an adult with no identity in the eyes of the government? Would you get in trouble? Is it possible?
I am not saying I would ever do this I just wonder about it..

Answers:
How about registering your baby TWICE to give it two identities, one good and one bad; all the bad stuff could go on one, the good on the other!
I think you must register a baby
I would imagine that unless you lived off in a cabin in the woods, someone would notice that there was a child not in school, and then report it. Then there would be a heap o'trouble.
What if the baby got ill how would u work and earn money to bring up the child if u couldn't tell the authorities u had a child and the main thing is why would anyone wanna do this?
The child would not legally exist, because there would be no birth or school records. He/she would not be able to get a driver's permit, a social security number, or a passport.
that is interesting. how would anyone know u hadnt registered them?
well they wouldnt be able to get a passport or any social benefits or a job cos they wouldnt be able to get a national insurance number
no you wouldnt get in trouble. It happens more than you think.

When the child did grow up and wanted to assimilate into normal society he/she would just have to register him/herself.
hmmm.that's a thought.but when you are pregnant you have to take pre-natal pills so how would get them? but i see what you are trying to say,..but I guess your child just would not have an identity and in today's world..you can't do anything without that.your child has to go out into the world sometime or another.so when the time came, what would they do? you see what I'm saying?
IF..u could get away with all that, you wouldn't get into that much trouble i wouln't think, since this happens all the time in amish communities and small towns all over the country.
The birth has to be registered until then no-one would know of their existence-So yes it is possible.
But the child would have to be kept in a cupboard so no-one would know.

It's illegal not to register the birth within 42 days in the UK.
That is an interesting question. I wonder myself if it is even possible. I doubt that it is. You would still shop for the baby, take it outside for a walk and people would still notice it. And you might get arrested for endangering a welfare of a child because you didn't let anyone know about the baby being born and that you were putting it in risk of disease. And about about immunization? You would need to do them, otherwise you are difenetily going to jail for the above. There they would ask you the name and the ss# of the baby. And you would have to give it out. Tehy also ask for the country of birth if you don't give them the ss#.
So I guess no it is not possible.
I think someone's gonna notice you being pregnant
Interesting question. Assuming that you took no government assistance of any kind, and assuming that you never took your child to the doctor's office for any health care, and assuming that your child never needed hospitalization, and assuming that you never claimed your child on your Income Tax return, and assuming that your child never wanted a driver's license, never got a job, etc.

He or she would make the perfect assassin!
I suppose it could be done but then you wouldnt be able to prove that the child was yours should anybody notice and social services became involved etc. I think it is illegal not to register a birth. Random question! Just like my thoughts!
Yes, you would get into trouble, because it is illegal not to register a child within six weeks of the birth.

Can't you think of something more realistic and productive?
Interesting question..Remember if you were do do that the baby woudl not be able get SSI, Medicad, or any other government program. They would not be able to vote, or drive. Wouldn't be abel to get get married legally.
I am pretty sure that all the aboce reason are why you have to register the baby.I am pretty sure that it is a law
I think you may be breaking a few laws, but, it is possible as pikies(gypsies) used to do it but now they are more likely to register a child as its cash to them (child benefit)
By law you have to register a birth within a few days. I had both my children at home and had to register them with the clerk of court. And now children have to have a Social Security number for taxes. (When I was a kid I didn't get my Social security number until I got a job, about 16.) So you could have a baby and not register with the county or get a SS number, but the child would have a great deal of trouble trying to say. get a job, go to college, get a drivers license, open a bank account etc.
Well, what about vacinations, if they took ill and needed a DR, fell and broke their leg and needed a hospital. They could never drive, have a bank account, get a job etc. Basically, it is not theoretically possible, unless they were born super human!
This is a very good question..and you could probablly do it......scarey..... wonder how many people have already done this...answers on a postcard
No, you as a parent would not get into any legal truble. However you will run ito countless problems through childhood trying to get assitance wether it be medical educational and or emergency services. it could be quite frustrating and backfire on you in a hurtful way. When the child becomes an adult it will have many problems to adress such as the fallowing: Drivers lisence, College, Employment and medical. In the long run it is not worth it. Both for the parent and the child. Consider Watching the TV show Dharma & Greig.
My question is what kind of crude, horrible person would do something like this?
I mean even if you are hiding from a person, or gang or something fearing for your life their is always witness protection.
it happens in a country call GUYANA in the south america/carribbean in a place called the interior where the amerindians have babies and don't even register them and trust me that have been going on for years
interesting question..i think it is illegal to conceal the birth of a child..you would probably go to jail for a time and your child would be taken into care. x
When you eventually got found out, the kid would be an illegal immagrant, so if they didn't deport it home to goodness knows where, they would give it a free home with aid to furnish and benefits to live on - now theres justice.
This is crazy
unless you did not go out for the nine months of pregnancy, surely people would notice that you are pregnant, that your eating habits may have changed, that you had morning sickness, so it would be virtually impossible to hide it. of course, you could go abroad, give birth abroad and come back home without the baby, maybe local people in whichever country you gave birth might be able to take it over, so no track there, but otherwise, a theoretical impossibility, with so many surveillance and data management systems around. In fact, you'd only need nosey neighbours to blow the lid off it.
when your home school a child test have to be given to this child to see if the child is up with his grade also when this child goes to get a job he would have to register for a social security number and then have to register for a green card and get a post dated birth certificate allhough it would be possible the child would have a really hard time when he/she becomes an adult also if the parent is audited he government would find out also the census guy could do a house call it might happen but it is not likely i don't think there is a set punishment so maybe the child could be taken away due to neglect (to keep the child hidden this requires no doctor visits leaving the child at home alone when doing erronds these two things alone are considered neglect)
And would they be giving birth to an illegal immigrant?
