What happens at your first Antenatal appointment at the hospital?

Answers:
when i went for mine they asked me if this was my first pregnancy then asked me how many children i already had which is 2 then they took a family history about any ilnessess and birth defects that i was aware of in my family history they then told me about my consultant and then booked an appointment to see him i had a scan arranged for 12 weeks and then they took blood to test for my blood group and any diseases that might harm the baby they test for hiv as well i declined as i had one when i had my last baby then they checked the baby and my stomach and told me to come back in 4 weeks hopes this helps
check dates, weight ultrasound etc
Its a booking in appointment - they ask lots of questions about family health history, take blood, weigh you etc. nothing nasty to fear xxxx
they ask u questions about ur health, what preferences u have for the birth, u get weighed, measured etc.
The group? I assume.
You meet women and partners and talk about babies.
They check the dates from your last period and other health details then weigh you then give you a folder that Will hold all your notes.
check your weight, blood pressure, blood test feel your abdomen and ask if you have any questions
When I had mine, I had a scan first, then gave blood sample, then they listened to my heart and blood pressure. They don't do that internal stuff anymore so don't worry : - )
what is antenatal? While you are pregnant? They did a pelvic exam, pap smear, blood test, urine test, weight, and blood pressure.
family history taken and first scan
The usual, bloods taken, weight etc, and possibly a 3/4 hour wait at the hospital, so take a good book.
