I have a 7 month old girl who has had a lump in her chest for a few months what can it be?

Doctor prescribed antibiotics which did reduce it a little. DR say's it's nothing but just keep an eye on it. I'm not sure.

Answers:
maybe a cyst. they are harmless. doc. probably wanted to rule out infection.
Get a second opinion if you are not happy, I would. Hope your baby is ok.
I would request a referral to a pediatric oncologist and also request, if it has not yet been done, an MRI or CT or some other sort of advanced diagnostic. May God bless and keep you and your precious daugther.
I don't know what it can be but if you are still concerned get a second opinion.
It could be a sist, dont panic, but for your peace of mind go and get it checked out, its probably nothing. All the best
get a second opinion if your worried this is your baby girl your talkin about!
I would get a second opinion - pediatric oncologist possibly. I hope you little one is okay.
If it was nothing then why give such a young infant antibiotics. As far as I am aware most doctors only give them as a last resort.

Get it checked, I'd have thought a cyst but not if is reducing in size, keep an eye for any other changes such as mood/tiredness, fluid intake etc.

Hope she's ok, I know this is a worrying time when they are so little
Get her into a hospital. I have a lump and have had it for years. It's not dangerous but I had to have scans, blood tests and tissue samples taken to make sure it wasn't serious. Hope she gets better
nowadays docs dont knw nothin they jus giv prescription and send u away.get a second third opinion.and tell them to refer u.best thing is to see a privat doctor..hope your baby gets well soon
If you're not sure then tell your doc that it still concerns you. Get him/her to refer you if you're reallt worried.
When I was a baby I developed a cyst on my eye - the doctors waited until I was 3 years old before taking action - glad to say that apart from a small scar there were no further problems.
Ask your doctor to refer to you to a paediatrician and get this checked out.
Meanwhile don't worry.
If you are not happy with what he said I would DEFINITELY get a second opinion. My daughter's boobs were swollen and the dr said it was perfectly normal and it went away after a couple of weeks.
Im not sure really . maybe her rib is pushed up to far. If your docter says its ok and just keep and eye on it. Then do so. It will go away soon. Same thing happened to me.
I would most definitely get a second opinion on that one.
er i would get a second opinion from another doctor,if my 7 month old had a lump on her chest i think i would be saying sod the antibiotics give my baby a scan, just to be on the safe side, hope your little one gets well soon jxx
take that baby to another doctor.,.
if it hasn't reduced dramatically ask for more antibiotics. If it still hasn't gone, demand tests. I hate to scare you but this is how it started when our 18 mth old got cancer. It started with a lump, two courses of antibiotics, x-rays etc then a trip to a specialist unit, only to be told a week later. Don't be complacent. Demand treatment or explanation. This is your child your talking about!
take her back to the doctor after the medicine has a chance to work
Go back to the Dr.people are so stupid.your child has a problem.what do you do.go to strangers who don't give a damn
It might be an infection. I might not be right, so go to her pediatrition and she/he will check. Hope your baby is ok.
I think it's better for you to look for pediatric oncologist and request some MRI or CT scan or other sort of advanced diagnostic. you have to do it now!
I got a friend whose baby was only 6 mos was found a lump in her body. later they brought the baby to hospital doing some MRI scan and found out it was a "liver cancer 4th stage!".

sorry this must hurt but i gotta tell you what i know.
i don't mean your baby must has it too. it may not be anything serious at all! so don't worry! just bring her to hospital and find out the truth so that you can breathe.

p.s. my friend's case was one in a million! very rare! (what doc said).
so you don't worry too much

hope your baby is just fine.
God Bless
I would also ask for a second opinion.
well if your doctor said it was nothing,it could be nothing.like he says just keep an eye on it
Get a second opinion, something is not quite right. Don't rely on one gp's opinion, if he's only given antibiotics, and no proper diagnosis, I wouldn't leave it at that. Hope your baby recovers soon.
