Answers:
I am 14 weeks now but had a bit of a false dawn at 11 weeks when I thought my energy levels were back to normal, only to find they weren't! Now though, this past week I've been much better, i.e. not needing a nap as soon as I get in from work or heading off to bed at 8pm! I don't remember having this urge to sleep with my first pregnancy but I'm looking forward to 3 or 4 months when energy levels are normal again.
I also found that my whole digestive system really slowed down (almost like the peristalsis had stopped) although I wasn't constipated it could mean 3 days between visits to the loo and that also made me feel really sluggish. That's passed now too and it helps.
Good luck to you. You'll hopefully not have too long to wait until you feel better.

dont expect to feel normal till after you've had the baby and their sleeping through the night!
sorry xx
i needed a nap every day for the last six months of my pregnancy, your body needs the rest there is a lot of things happening in there and it takes its toll. Be grateful for it cause you will be getting a lot less sleep when the little one arrives.
sorry to tell you but it might not pass until your child is about 18 years old if your lucky.
I found that I was really tired for most of the first 3 months. The second 3 months were great, I was full of energy and felt ready to take on the world. The last 3 months have left me really tired again though.

Best rule is to let your body decide how much rest you need and don't push things too hard.

Good luck, I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well for you.
My baby will be 5 months old tomorrow and I still need naps! And she sleeps thru the nite! Your energy will come back to you in a couple of weeks, the second trimester is so much easier.
It will get better in the 2nd trimester and then will get bad again towards the end of your pregnancy. This was true for me in both my pregnancies and if you ask your doc they will say the same thing
The more active you are and the better you eat the more quickly it will go away.

i was exhausted in the begining, but i didnt stop to nap, i just slept a solid night each night.

It should pass in a couple weeks. if you're really that exhausted go in and make sure you're not anemic. Its the most common thing to cause tiredness during pregnancy.
well you will be feeling more of this as you go along. remember your body is trying to cope up with sustaining two lives, so take short naps as often as you feel you have to.
Usually the tiredness will be considerably reduced after the first trimester. However you must remember that your body is now doing work all the time taking care of your baby, so even when you are sitting idle, your body is doing a lot of work.
It is important for you to sleep and give your body a good rest, and the right nutrition, this will help reduce the effect after a while and you will start feeling better as you enter your second trimester which for most women is the most active and fun part of their pregnancy.
I used to come home from work at 6pm and sleep until the next day and do it all over again. The tiredness will last all 40 weeks. Although some women get some relief in their second trimester. Try to get as much sleep as you can now because after the baby is born, it'll be difficult to get a few hours.
Chicago (the first answer) is right! Sorry
it will probably take about 18 years for the tiredness to subside !
just kidding!, Ive had four kids and it usually gets better around 4 months but it can vary from woman to woman, get your hubby/partner to help around the house, shopping and the more strenuous activities and enjoy all the sleep you can before the baby arrives as you wont get much once he/she is here, congrats and best wishes
Our daughter is 9 months old and I'm still exhausted!

Really, though, the feeling of fatigue that you're having should ease up a bit in the second trimester and then come back with a vengence during your third. Your body is working very hard right now building that little life inside you! Let your body take the rest that it needs and don't fight the naps too much. If you nap when you feel the need, then you could feel more productive during your awake time. (This is something that helped me tremendously.)

Good luck.
oh girl you have long road ahead of you cause its only gona get worse , i am 38 weeks and just now lost my energy , but are you taking your pre-natal viatimins? and have you had your iron level checked? these are an affect on you right now since the baby is taking alot of your nutrints , so you need 2 make sure you take your pre-natls and if your iron is low your doc may wanna but you on an iron supplment.
Well, my daughter was 9 months old, and I still was tired...does that help? lol, get used to the feeling, I had it the entire pregnancy and then the new baby just takes everything out of you. Now my daughter is 12 months and I am 3 months pregnant. But my hubby is starting to help more. Umm, try eating some more healthy calories during the day for a boost. Some fruit, or meat and cheese snacks for protein. It might help you out some without wrecking your whole pregnancy diet.
I was really tired with my first baby, but i did work full time. You will feel less tired in about a couple of weeks, you feeling tired is your body telling you to rest and take it easy so listen to it! hope you have a good pregnancy.
You poor thing, I am about the same and have a scan tomorrow to confirm my dates and I feel like pants. I already have two kids, the youngest of which is 14 months old so no naps in the day for me, I seem to remember feeling completely better by 14 weeks with those 2 so hopefully it will pass soon. Good luck with everything. Beck
You should get some comfort from this between 16 and 20 weeks. You will still get tired easily and probably more than normal, but this "honeymoon" period is the best part of being pregnant. You stop feeling sick, aren't as tired, and aren't huge and uncomfortable yet.

Best Wishes!
Ha, about the time your baby turns 18! I have three currently and am 8 weeks pregnant with number four, trust me, enjoy the sleeping while you can :)
This will passs soon, as its because you body is adapting to being pregnant. Get loads of sleep girl your going to need it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
when you become pregnant your blood volume doubles and doesn't go back to normal for a year after birth so you might have the tired feeling for that long especially if you become anemic
no time soon.
HA!! never! :) lol
Seriously though, you will be tired throughout your whole pregnancy, but the "I can't stand to evern be awake" feeling will start to pass between 12-15 weeks. Good luck and hang in there :)
by 12-14 weeks don't worry
you will be tired you're WHOLE pregnancy.but it DOES get better in your second trimester and that's only a week away for you. In my 2nd tri. i felt like a whole new person. I had energy, i could clean, i was just starting to show..then when my 3rd tri. hit it was hard because now i am TWICE as tired as i was in the beginning.

good luck and congrats!
about another 29 weeks then.sorry but its worth it in the end !
I will just say this..get use to it! Trust me, you will be tired throughout most of your pregnancy. Also you will be tired once the baby is born.

You may want to get your iron checked also just to make sure you are anemic. This can make you very sleepy even if you aren't pregnant!

Good luck to you and congrats!
When you have delivered,no seriously after your first thee months things pick up abit, until the last month then you become tired agai.
my eldest is 16 next month & i still need an hour 2 sleep/rest in the afternoon!!! i would be in bed for 7pm if i didnt have that hour!
I napped every day of my pregnancy because i was always tired too. altho i'm still like that now over 2 years later! perhaps i should see a doctor!

anyway, some people stop feeling as tired in the 2nd trimester when they get a new lease of life and then again sometimes towards the end of the 3rd trimester with a nesting instinct (at 8 mo's i found myself up a ladder cleaning windows. still not sure why i'd want to do that!!)

everyone is different but if you can nap when you can. you're going to need all your strength next year!

good luck!
it might go when the kid is about 25years old. you will never sleep again the way you once did, enjoy all the sleep you can get now
