If you live in a city that has Michael's craft stores they have fun craft classes for all ages on Saturday mornings all you do is pay a small fee for supplies which is anywhere usually from a dollar to 3 dollars per person. Last time I went it was $2 and my kids got to make some fun little painted pumpkins they had a blast. You should check it out. If not try looking up kids crafts on google. Hope that helps, have a good one.

The buckets of foam shapes are great. All of my boys(3, 5 and8) like those. Contact paper and tissue paper to make sun catchers. Scissors, glue stick and paper (old wallpaper books work well too)
make holiday decorations out of poster paper, painting coloring building stuff, make things to eat, like mixing ice creams or other foods.
Paper plates - are good for the children to make faces on. Wool for hair, and the rest can be done with felts or if you have old material the kids can cut out the rest and stick it on.
Old socks - Make good hand puppets. Same thing as above only they are animated. (Enough kids could do a little play)
Boiled eggs - decorate the eggs, my kids love this.
empty cereal boxes and toilet roll tubes - good for making robots.
Go the park and collect leaves, cones and sticks etc, make an autumn collage.
Loads of glue, pipe cleaners, sticky shapes, sequins, paint, felts- anything messy....quiet for hours!!!
