How fertile are you after having a baby?

Answers:
If you are breastfeeding, you probably *aren't* fertile. (See sources section below.) Breastfeeding alone (if you are *exclusively* nursing) is 98% effective--more effective than almost any other form of birth control--for the first 6 months or until you get your period back, whichever comes first. (Note that if you are using hormonal birth control, this will cause vaginal bleeding that will mask whether you are having periods or not.) Giving anything else by mouth (bottles, pacifiers, etc.) will lower the effectiveness.

But you are *extremely* unlikely to ovulate and be fertile before your first period if you meet all the criteria above. If you ask all the women who got pregnant while breastfeeding, you would find that they "only" used a pacifier a few times, or "only" gave occasional bottles, or "oh, yes, I had my period first". The old wive's tale is that it's all an old wive's tale!
You are very fertile. Sometimes breastfeeding can provide you some protection but is not a safe form of contraception.
You will ovulate after having a baby, even while breastfeeding. If you are having sex, be careful, because you can get pregnant again the first time you ovulate, and not have your first period.
Slightly more fertile than you were before having a baby! Breastfeeding is said to act as a mild form of birth control, but it isn't really a way to prevent pregnancy.
VERY !!!!! my best freinds dr didnt tell her she thought it would be months before she was fretile 1 month after my godson was born she was pregnant with my god daughter
vary !!!!i thought it was BS to until my wife got pregnant take heed if you don't want another right behind the last one
I would say very fertile I had 2 in one year one in January and one in December. Not that I would change it now
you are at your most fertile cos your hormones are everywhere, some people say that breastfeeding can prevent you getting pregnant but i wouldnt rely on that
i would guess, being a man, i would be freakishly fertile?
super fertile!
It really depends, but you could be very fertile, so if you don't want to have another baby right away, make sure to use birth control. If you're breastfeeding, make sure to use something that is safe for your baby.
ummm let me say this in a calm way VERY FERTILE. the reason i know this is because my mother got pregnant with me right after she had my sister. she went for her six week apt and found she was pregnant with me. so if you don't want another one right away don't have sex or practice SAFE SEX .
Very ! Be careful
Apparantly very fertile straight after giving birth and for a few months after.
very very fertile
You are more fertile in the first 3 months after having a baby than at any other time. Do not feel that breastfeeding is a natural contraceptive, unless you want another baby very soon!
Very. This is why so many 2nd babies are born so quickly after 1st ones.
