my son had cradle cap til he was about 5 years old. it came and went but when it was at its worst i used 2 gently rub baby oil in2 his head, leave it for a few minutes and then comb it out and give him his bath to wash the oil out. he seemed alright with this, as the oil softens the cradle cap therefore making it easier to get it off. :)
baby oil.
baby oil helps
buy some stuff from the chemist, you put it on there scalp and leave it for a bit and it helps to soffen it so when you bath them it comes off when you shampoo the hair,
you put baby oil on it and scratch it with a tooth brush, it sounds weird but it works.
u can use sea breeze, but 'MUST' be careful not to get it in her eyes. massage in scalp, then shampoo and rinse. the sea breeze won't cause damage, but can sting eyes.
if u don't want to do this, ask ur dr/nurse.
when you are washing her hair use a baby bush or baby tooth brush and rub in circular motion. It'll take alot of the flakes off and feels good too because as I have seen in both of my daughters the cradle cap was itchy.
i always used baby oil on my children use a soft baby brush full of it every day untill u cure it after that just use it a small amount at bath time to prevent it .it does work
baby oil and soft scrub brush. if that doesn't work, rub alcohol and set on fire
My granddaughter had the same problem. Rub a little baby oil on the scaly parts of her scalp. Take a baby comb and gently comb out the scale. It may take a couple of days doing this, but it worked like a charm for my granddaughter..:)
baby oil and a fine comb is what alot of people i know use. they just comb it out. but to make their head to ray. if you do it to much in one spot their head will get red and sore.
My daughter had this for a long time, what i used to do is when i washed her hair i would take a fine tooth comb and comb thru her hair when i washing it. it seemed to help remove some of the scabs or such. before you put your child to bed soak the spot with either lotion of baby oil comb thru in morning, if it doesnt get better you can also try butt cream that helps sometimes too.
JOHNSONS baby oil the clear stuff, rub it into the scalp leave it for thirty minutes, then get a fine toothed comb and gently comb the hair the opposite way, front to back, if it hasn't all completely gone repeat the next time you wash babys hair.. good luck it always worked with our kids .
my kids all had cradle cap. when the youngest was a baby they came out with BABY MAGIC---BABY BATH. NEVER HAD ANOTHER PROBLEM.GO TO WALMART
Baby oil with a couple of drops of tea tree oil. Don't brush it, that hurts. Alternatively, just leave it. It will go eventually.
try pure OLIVE OIL, (has vitamins that helps skin conditions), massage in, be careful of babies diet too: try wheat-free, as could be an allergic reaction
a friend of mine took her son with bad excema to Greece and he briefly cleared up
Teach1 is right. My youngest still gets cradle cap occaisionally and I .
take a small amount of baby shampoo, about 1/4 cup
and mix in 1/4 to1/2 teaspoon of Tea Tree essential oil (which Wal-Mart sells in the vitamin section now),
add a little lavender oil 1/4 tsp or less (if you have it, it is just to cut the smell of the Tea Tree).
I wash his hair with this making sure to shake the shampoo well before I apply and rub the area with the cradle cap with the tips of my fingers really well. Make sure not to get it in his eyes when you rinse because the essential oils will sting.

After a day or two of this the cradle cap dissappears. Tea tree and lavender are both safe for babies. The tea tree does not smell very good at first but the smell fades overnight and his hair smells great.
Check with the doctor. It may be eczema. I thought that my son had cradle cap. It wouldn't go away when I used baby oil.
It may not be 'cradle cap'. I had been diagnosed with that as a baby, no method of getting rid of it worked. Turns out that I have malformed oil glands that cause a buildup on my scalp (not dry scalp and not dandruff). My mother's solution was to cut my hair all off and let my scalp breathe.

I'm 28 and still have it, I have a scrubber that I scrub my scalp with at every shower to get it down. I also use Neutrogena T-Sal to break it up occasionally. My daughter (5) also has the same condition. If you don't keep it broken up it gets very hot, very itchy, and stinks.
There is no cure to cradle cap the best thing you can use is baby oil and some cotton wool that will make it moist then you comb it out but it might take a while so be patient
Baby oil is the best treatment but don't wash the hair too many times and take out the natural oils. You can be overly clean with sensitive skin. But oil and a brush will help.
Ive heard gentle massage with baby oil at bath time.

you can get fragrance free.

I wouldnt use heavy creames or covering it too much.

But it will go, 6- 18 months is the norm, depending on your enthic background.
My son had cradle cap although my daughter didn't. It lasted a few months. I would massage baby oil all over his scalp and let it sit for about 20-30 minutes. This helps soften the scales. Then to wash his hair I would use the generic version of "seltson blue" (shampoo with selenium sulfide is what you should use) and let it sit for 5 minutes. Be careful not to let it get in their eyes. Then with an old or soft toothbrush I would use gentle circular motions to get the scales off then rinse the shampoo out. You may also use the toothbrush before applying shampoo also. You might find little pieces flake off after the bath also. I would only wash his hair every couple of days at most so it would not irritate his scalp. It took a few treatments but it finally went away.
you can call her pediatrician and tell them whats going on and they can order some medicated shampoo i cant remember the name but i know that you use it twice a week and by the time the bottle is finished all the cradle cap is usually gone but sometimes even before you get to finish it this stuff works great but you have to get a prescription for it
there is a shampoo in boots and other chemists its in a green and white box 4 cradle cap,or olive oil...
there is some medicine for cradle cap from Johnson and Johnson and it will get rid of it, and I used Vaseline or olive oil, let it sit 4 a while then brush the baby hair, then wash it, I never used baby oil because the scent in that is 2 strong and it is not gentle enough.
