What do I do now that I am pregnant?

I just took a home pregnancy test, and found out that I am pergnant. I don't know what the next step is. I don't have medical insurance (I don't qualify for insurance at my job for another 2 months). How do pregnant women without medical insurance get care?

Answers:
The first step is to stop smoking and drinking. Then find a local free clinic for your preliminary exams. You should be OK for the 2 months. Best of luck.
Try Planned Parenthood
u can go to a free clinic and u should be able to work 4 2 months then u will have the insurance
have a great day
Gosh. I'm very glad I live in the UK. Good old NHS :-)
Go to your local health department (DSS), they should be able to help you there.. Good Luck! =)
I would look into a crisis pregnancy center that might be able offer free care or give you resources for care.
Move to new zealand! Ha. free medical attention here for most cases, including all pregnancies in public hospitals! Lol
what i'd like to know is how can people with 6 kids and no job have the highest quality of EVERYTHING
Well the good thing about that is youhave 9 months to develop the life inside your womb. So that gives you 7 months to have medical insurance so you can have your baby!

Congratulations to you
I don't live in USA so don't have the anwers you need, sorry. But I would like to say, please take very good care of yourself. Find someone you trust to talk to, because its not just the financial side, you will need emotional support too.

Good luck.
Go to a doctor and find out for sure. Then you have three choices:
Option A: Have the baby and be a mother.
Option B: Have the baby and give it up for adoption.
Option C: Have an abortion.
I hate to be so blunt but those ARE youre only options, regardless of your insurance situation. Although I believe that women have the right to choose whether or not to have the baby, I would recommend the abortion, it just seems kind of barbaric, but thats my personal opinion. Aside from that, wait for your work insurance to kick in and have fun. Ka-Boom.

go to a private doctor if you can't do anything else. You must have medical supervision and tests done.
If you are in the U.S., you can apply for Medicaid ("medical card") at your county's Department of Human Services.
There are many options out there.. Try looking some planned parenthood places on the internet and see what they provide for the next two months. You want to get on pregnatal pills ASAP, they are very important. You can hold off on the DR until you are covered by insurance and just buy over the counter brand. Target sells them.

Good Luck!
Call the doctor's office.explain to them the situation.they will or should be able to help you somehow.Goodluck and Congratulations!
Usually you can go to your local health dept and they can help you in getting medical assistance for you and the baby. Even if you qualify for insurance in 2 month, a lot of times medical assistance will help out with the baby if you are a single mom and make under a certain amount.
I would keep quiet for two months.
And then once your insurance is in start using it.
until then eat heathy and do not eat any raw eggs or soft cheese. Do light exercise and do not drink Alcohol. AT ALL. Drink plenty of fruit juice and water and if you like it goats milk is very good for baby.
Medicaid for pregnant women
go to the state and apply for the medicaid. If you don't qualify for that then I'd go to the clinic, they're usually on a sliding scale. But first try medicaid.
Good question, You may not even be able to get coverage since it's pre-existing! Do you qualify for government help? The first thing I would do is call the doctors office whom you are wanting to see and talk to them and see what they say or you could wait until your insurance kicks in in 8 weeks so that way they can't say it was pre-existing if you didn't see the doctor in that time period, you could simply say you didn't know and they will have to cover you, Good luck that's tough
should have never layed down
Try a free clinic or Planned Parenthood. Good Luck
Go to your local health department, they will do a preg. test to confirm you are pregnant. You will probably qualify for wic (woamn children and infants) WIC gives you Milk, peanut butter, eggs, cheese, juice, cereal, stuff like that every week till the baby is born and then you get formual. You can get WIC until the baby is 5 years old. If that is something you need or are intrested in. You can get put on medicaid for pregnant women, it covers prescriptions, doctors visits, entire cost of having the baby, hospital stay. After the have the baby he or she can be put on medicaid after you get his or her social security number. It will pay for their doctors visits and presciptions. Hopefully you have a supportive family/boyfriend and don't forget you can always get child support if he doesn't want to help!

Hope this helps! Congratulations!
This EXACT same thing happened to me. If you qualify for it financially, you can try some type of medicaid or find a free/low cost clinic. However, most doctors don't want to see you until somewhere between 10 -12 weeks anyway. If something "bad" happens between now and then, there's absolutely nothing they, you or anyone else can do for your baby.

Do you have any idea how far along you are? Two weeks? A month? Two months? If you're just a month or so, I'd hold in there until your insurance takes effect at your job. If you're farther along than that, I'd do what I suggested earlier and try to find a free or reduced cost clinic to go to. If for nothing else, to have your pregnancy confirmed with a blood test, and to speak with the doctor about what you should do in the mean time.

If you're positive you're pregnant, my advice would be to start taking a prenatal vitamin and a folic acid supplement every day, stop any bad habits/vices (drinking alcohol, smoking, etc.) you may have, and try to eat healthier if you don't already do so.

You *could* try what I did. I was a nervous wreck with my first baby.I was convinced something bad would happen to him if I didn't see a doctor immediately, I didn't qualify for Medicaid.I was stuck. I called around and around, and plenty of OB/GYNs took cash-paying patients, but wanted like a $3,500 deposit up front. Hello!? If I had that kind of money, I'd go get myself a medical insurance policy! DUH! Anyway, I FINALLY found one who actually LISTENED to me when I told them I would have insurance in a few months, but I didn't right then, and they agreed to see me and give me my first visit as a "freebie." They didn't do much.took a family history, made me pee in the cup, calculated my due date, etc. But, it gave me piece of mind. You could try that?
move to britain and use the nhs
medicade!from the state they should help you
I am afread I don't know in america. In UK we see a midwife and it is free.
I live in the UK so we do not have that kind of worry here.
Being a pregnant woman any where is a worry in itself,
It do`s not matter how rich or poor the woman is.
Or whether she is Single Married Widowed or Divorced.
That worry is there constantly,
How will it go, Will the baby be all right,Who will help,
What can I do,
60 seconds in a min, 60 mins in an hour,24 hours in a day,28 days in a lunar month, 10 lunar months in a pregnancy,
Thats 96768000 seconds,
Millions of moments worrying, Over the child.
Probably also having other people to care/worry for too.
Why in the 21st CENTURY are we still not doing more to help EVERY WOMAN who is pregnant,
No woman should have to worry as much as they do, During Pregnancy.
Every one should be able to get the help and care they need, No matter the cost,
Goverments should do more help
you dont live in england then because all your medical treatment would be free
