My daughter started walking when she was 11 months old.
two and a half
as soon as she appeard
Well how old were you when you started to walk? I was 10 months and potty trained by 11.

It all depends on the determination and time given by the parents.

Put in the effort and you will reap the rewards. However, I'd let my baby walk in his own time, after all, once he does that, you are going to be forever chasing him and gasping as he goes tumbling over !

:)
16 months, and she's still lazy at 18!!
my nephew was probably almost 9-10 months

my son was about 13 months
mine 11 months old.
Every child is different, it's really more when the child feels he or she is ready.
My daughter walked at ten and a half months - the same as me. My son was over one when he walked.
i was 6mths old but then i was a clever little so and so my god daughter has just started walking few steps and is just about 2 turn 1 all kids are different some develope faster in other areas like talking etc
mine boy started to walk at 10 months,it all depends on them, hold there hands and move there legs forwards so they can have the feel of it then one day you will see then do it there self
My son started walking at 9 months. You have to remember that it varies from baby to baby, so I wouldn't even try get an average. It will happen when it happens.
My first walked at 10 months and my second is now 7 months and walks round the furniture (not alone yet). Most children I know learn to walk alone by around 12-14 months. You'll probably mainly get responses from people like me bragging that their children were early walkers though! Anythings normal from 10 months to 18 months I believe.
10 months, 10 months, 13 months.
If you want a "true average", then you're in the wrong place. Even if everyone is perfectly honest, only those who choose to answer will, so you won't get anything really useful. Average age for a baby to start walking is 9-17 months (see sources section below).

However, my daughter took her first step (without holding on) when she was 17 1/2 months old. She was more interested in talking than walking, once she was able to crawl and stand up once she got where she was going. :-)
I have a daughter and two sons. My daughter walked two days after her 1st b-day and my elder son walked two weeks after his 1st b-day. My baby son has just turned one and is getting ready to take off! Hope this information is of some help
my first child walked at about 10 months and my second child at about 1 year and a month. my second child might have walked a little earlier, but we lived in a house with hard wood floors until he was 8 1/2 so he had a little trouble grasping the cralling thing, he just sorta dragged his bottom half everywhere. he was a little behind his peers.
my daughter was walking at exactly 10 months
My little sister was walikg at 7 months alone, my son was 13 months.

It all depends on the child. My son was talking much earlier than my sister though. They all develop differently.
13 months
My son was taking a few unaided steps a week before his first birthday. Then he was a bit under the weather for a couple of weeks and stopped trying. He was walking at 13 months. He's 15months old tomorrow but I'd only say he's been truly walking for a few weeks, not getting down to crawl etc and staying on his feet at most times. I think people do exaggerate, my mum and dad always said I was walking at 10 months but now I see my own son, I know he's not behind or anything but there's no way he's have been truly walking at 10 months!
10 months - this is when she first walked alone
My little boy was around 13 months when he started to walk unaided.

My friends little girl was 9 months!!
