You probably need to introduce a multivitamin into your diet. If you are not taking your prenatal vitamins still, that is. Most doctors recommend taking prenatals as long as you breastfeed. You need these vitamins in your milk. You also need to eat a well balanced diet. By that I mean, meat, potatoes, vetables, and fruit. Be sure to drink a lot of milk. Go with vitamin D milk. It has more fat in it. You don't want to just start eating junk food and food that's all fat. You need to eat healthy in order to maintain a healthy weight. And keep in mind, you don't want to gain weight too quickly. It is not healthy, just as losing a bunch of weight very quickly is not healthy. If you eat right and take your vitamins, you should be back to a healthy and comfortable weight soon. You probably lost so much weight due to the stress from having baby and all your lifestyle changes. Don't worry. You will feel normal again soon. Your body will never be the same as it was before you had your son, but you will feel comfortable with your body again. Congratulations on your son, and I wish you both the best.
By the way, Ensure makes a drink calle Healthy Mom. It is for pregnant and breastfeeding women. It is full of all the healthy stuff that you need, and it tastes good too. They have chocolate, strawberry, orange, and vanilla. Check them out. I included the website below, and you can find them in the baby section of your local grocery store. This site offers coupons too. Good luck.
be thankful
Eat lots of starchy carbohydrate, rice pasta potatoes & bread
you should be thankful in a way.you could be asking how to loose loads of weight that you couldn't shed after giving birth! best way to gain weight though is carbs and make sure you are getting all the right vitamins to keep you and your baby healthy. best of luck.
if i lost weight like that i would be throwing a huge party to celebrate. if you believe you do not have the nurishment that your body needs then you can bet when your baby breast feeds he is not getting it either
What are we talking about here - wasting away to skin and bone, like you've been in a dungeon for six years? Just eat a healthy diet (don't skimp on the semi-skimmed milk or other normal stuff!) and be thankful you're not like Mrs Michellin Man.
It sounds like breastfeeding isn't doing either of you any good. have a chat with your health visitor at the baby clinic. If he's a hungry baby you'll just wear yourself out, especially if you are working. take care and make sure you have the energy to enjoy your baby-it's hard work xxx:)
ARE YOU CRAZY? Eat healthy. Be extremely thankful. You could be wanting to lose this weight. To Be So LUCKY!
I think you should get a thorough check-up by your doctor first.
Eat about 3500-4000 calories a day while nursing. Your body is sending all the nutrients to your breastmilk.
Try taking Endo24 from www.danielchapterone.com
You need to eat pulses and brown rice fish cheese chicken red lean meat. If you can go to the gym and do weight training that will really help too.
Well done on having your baby, I want one but need to find someone who wants to settle down first.
Sky.x
You need to eat regular balanced meals. But it sounds to me like you need to maybe sit down with a nutritionist or your doctor, as maybe there could be something else wrong. I dont think breast feeeding will make you look malnourished, unless you weren't eating the proper amount of calories per day as directed.
Go get checked out. Your baby needs you to be healthy!
i think you should be proud of having a great figure after carrying a baby for 9 months be proud and show it of some woman arent so lucky and are desperate to lose the baby weight.
Look at how much you are eating. Keep a journal of everything you eat for a week or two. Figure out if you are covering all the food groups and if you are getting enough calories. Maybe add some protein shakes or something for snacks.
Lucky you! I look like a hippo can't seem to shake my weight off, perhaps you need tests for thyroid problems, the hormones after pregnancy sends different signals to your brain.. If its bothering you that much I would get checked out. Make sure that your eating three balanced meals and take some vitamins if not welcome to motherhood.
You lucky thing. Get yourself to MacDonald's lol!
Try drinking protien shakes-
Thank God!
I too am having the same concern, I've lost all of pregnancy weight and then some, and like the weight I'm at. I posted a similar question and got some good responses. I try to eat well, but my appetite isn't what it used to be, so to increase my caloric intake I've been drinking protein shakes (with whey protein, not that body building supplement) or you can mix fruit and yogurt, as an added meal, not a replacement. Still do take your prenatals as well, just remember whatever you are eating the baby is getting in your milk, so if your not eating right, he's taking everything he can and not leaving you anything. Breastfeeding is the best diet, burning so many calories, sometimes hard to keep up ! Good job continuing to breastfeed !
Firstly, congratulations for breastfeeding! What a wonderful start your boy is having to life. And well done for combining breastfeeding, bottles and working. A supermum!
Breastfeeding does take extra energy so you'll need a good balanced diet and plenty of rest (when you can!-that's where breastfeeding works for itself: you HAVE to sit down to do it!)
You may have lost extra weight due to stress of new baby and returning to work. First stop is the GP to make sure there's no underlying cause. Postnatal Hyperthyroidism could cause extra weight loss. It's easily fixed with medication and you can probably continue to breastfeed.
Good luck!
please check your diet
You silly moo, be thankfull, lol. do you know how many woman wished they could drop weight after child birth. You are lucky. On the other hand if you are still worried, i think you should talk to your doctor. Hope you feel better soon, and all the best with the baby.
my Friend lost lots of weight after she had a child but when the baby was about 1 yr she started to put on weight. hope this helps ; )
dont complain most people are fighting to get the weight off after a baby.
i breastfeed my kids both for a long long time and im so so skinny and i am very happy to be honest with u, better that being over weight. if i was u ill be happy.
I went through the same thing.most women want to kill you for complaining but I was really worried--the weight was just coming off so quickly and I felt I looked too skinny..it did finally plateau at about 7 months though and I stopped losing weight. Now I've been about the same weight for the last few months and I'm still breastfeeding my 10 mo. old son. Protein shakes are a good suggestion-they're quick and easy and you can drink it in between meals.Make sure you are eating properly--sometimes I was skipping some meals because I was always catering to the baby.Good luck!
