Would you donate your eggs or sperm for free for childless couples?
I am thinking about having some eggs frozen, and if I conceive in the mean time, I would like to donate my eggs to the National Health Service for couples or singles , that can't afford Private Health Care . Would you do that?

I would think about it for a long time and consider all possibilities.
If I did it I would like to specify that the donated eggs are used a long way from where I live. Otherwise it is possible (unlikely, but possible) that your child could meet the child that results of the donation, have a relationship etc.
Also it is worth considering what will happen if the laws become such that the child could trace their biological mother.
Once these sort of things are considered, if you still go ahead and donate I think it is a wonderful thing to do.

yes. but donating eggs to have them either frozen or immediate transplant is hard with a lot of medication and side effects (many negative) that can also be long term and permanent. look into first. it sounds like a good idea but like with everything, their is always a down side.

there is no point me considering it i would be refused as there are too many health problems in my family that can be hereditry ( i can not get critical illness cover for the mortgage because of this)
i would think carefully about this to make sure that if you go ahead you are really sure about it
you may find that you would be required to go through some sort of 'councelling' before you were accepted
and almost certainly you would have to give details of your medical and family medical history before being accepted
My friend did this and she said she thought it was the most amazing thing other than giving a child up for adoption that a person can do for another person, extracting the eggs hurts like hell she said though!
Call me selfish but no I wouldn't. I wouldn't want to think that there was a person out there that was part of me and not know who they are.
I would consider being a surrogate for someone though but it would have to be the other woman's egg for the reasons I've already stated.

I always wanted kids one day, and as time goes by I'm probably less and less likely to have them. I'm even at the stage now that when I dream, I dream I actually have children and it's quite upsetting to wake up and realise it wasn't real. For that brief moment it's like you actually lost a child.
Whilst it would help me to know I had helped a couple have children there would always be that part of me that would be torn, as they might have the one thing that I never had myself.
