I have a girl age 8yrs she will not sit down on public toilets seats she hovers over it.?
Answers:
Maybe she likes 2 be clean.... at the Dollar General Store I think they sell paper toilet seat covers.
I'm picky about that 2
Maybe you could purchase some of those toilet seat covers. I think you can get them at Wal-Mart or Target. Maybe that will ease her fear-that way, she won't have to actually touch the toilet.
I Dunno
It just shows how inherently intelligent this little girl is. Public toilets are disgusting!
Are you using one of those paper butt gaskets to protect her from the seat? Maybe if she saw you do it? Or her friends?
my husband does that he can not sit on a public toilet and i dont blame him they are diiirrttyy. anyway find out why she wont sit down if its couse they are so dirty get some seat covers they sell them in little to go packs. and if its something else talk to her about it find out if theres anything you can do to change her mind
Hey, I don't sit on public toilet seats thats gross! Well if they have those paper sheets you can place over top!
I haven't missed the toilet before tho!
She's fine! Don't pressure her to sit! But if they have those paper sheets or maybe even place toilet paper around the seat!
I'm not sure if that's an entirely bad thing. Public toilets are disgusting.
The only thing I can suggest is maybe buying some "Purell Wipes" the are those antibacterial hand wipes.maybe if she carries them in her purse and cleans the seat she may feel better about sitting on the seat..at least until she improves her aim.
Carry toilet seat covers and maybe some sanitizer so that she might be comforable using the public toilet.
that's good. no telling how many germs are on them. my mom told me not to do sit on it either
That necesarilly isn't a bad thing. Its better safe than sorry in public places.. Teach her accuracy and the idea to lay out toilet paper on the seats before using them and when she begins to carry a purse, have her carry toilet seat covers with her at all times.
Dont blame her, have you seen the state of some of them!
DONT LET HER SIT IN THE PUBLIC TOILETS. THATS NASTY OTHER PEOPLES BUTTS HAVE BEEN THERE. WHAT YOU SHOULD DO IS PUT THOSE TOILET COVERS SO SHE CAN SIT.
i dont blame her. i wont sit on them either. try covering it with toilet roll
That is a good, no GREAT thing. Do you realize how nasty public toilets are. Don't discourage her from being clean and germ free.
If you really insist on the girls sitting, invest in some toilet seat covers and show the girls how to use them.
GOOD FOR HER! THIS SHOWS THAT YOUR 8 YR OLD DAUGHTER HAS MORE SENSE THAN HER MUM.
PUBLIC TOILETS ARE THE SOURGE OF THE EARTH, USED BY EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO AND WITH WHATEVER DIESESES. I MAN MAN AND I WON'T SIT ON A PUBLIC TOILET UNLESS I HAVE TO, I FEEL SORRY FOR WOMEN WHO HAVE TO USE THEM IN THE SITTING POSITION.
I think you have to find out why without making a big deal out of it. Someone probably told her they were dirty and she is afraid of 'germs'. OK so sometimes they may be dirty but it is very unlikely she would come to any harm. We are too paranoid about germs. I heard today there are more bacteria in our stomachs than there have ever been people on the earth!! Germs help us develop our immune systems, and learning to wash your hands is probably more important than hovering over a seat. If she can't bring herself to sit down, say you understand and practice doing it at home whilst hovering. Then you are giving her a coping strategy until such time as she is convinced there is no great danger. If you get really wound up about it it could compound phobic/ compulsive behaviour.
My Mum always hovers over public toilet seats too, and has peed over her trousers twice in recent years because of this. Perhaps your daughter will become more embarrassed from this as she gets older to the extent that she will prefer to risk sitting on the seat than disgrace herself. In the meantime perhaps getting her to wipe the seat with a big wad of toilet paper first will make it more acceptable to sit down.
**** this girl is a genus you know that if someone has crabs you can get it by using the toilet after them only if some landed on the seat but toilet seats are grosssssssss!!!!!!!
well, i don't necessarily blame her. i don't sit on public toilets unless i have to do #2 and if that's the case, then i use a force field of toilet paper on the seat before i sit.
it's hard to get that aim down when you're little!
i would try to comfort her with loads of force field toilet paper and toilet seat covers on the seat first, then assure her that the seat is clean and safe for her to sit on. then, hopefully, she will sit.
somehow she got it in her head that public toilets were unclean, or unsafe, or scary of some sort...so, teach her how to stay healthy and clean adn still make it all into the toilet:)
i'm telling you.the force field of T.P. never lets me down:)
take care.
Good for her. I am the same way. Why don't you buy some covers and she can carry around in a little pocketbook.
Don't worry, a lot of little girls don't like to sit on public toilets seats. They often feel that it is "dirty".
She is just being a normal, clean little girl. Give her lots of reassurance. Tell her you understand, but that it's important she feels she can sit on the seats when she needs to. Tell her that you feel the same, but it is OK.
Take something with you for her to sit on, maybe some tissues. Hope this is helpful.
I will not sit on a public toilet seat and Im 33.Think of how many people have sat there before you,All the germs, and odd bit of dribble. Its repulsive the thought of sitting on a public seat.you could take wet wipes and clean the public toilet.take her in with you.wipe the seat with a wipe.then you sit and go first,if she watches she will see its acceptable.Ive always taken my girls in with me.do it the right way and they see nothing.just a little bit bare bum.
Public restrooms period are NASTY! It is good that she is taken preacaution, although I would suggest that she carries anti bacterial wipes with her incase she really need to sit on it. Clean with wipe, place toilet paper or seat cover before seating on toilet.
Buy her some seat covers
hi just take lots of loo roll out with you you could also take a small bottle of disinfectent and spray the seat first also get some of the handwash that you don't need to use water with.
It sounds like you have a very sensible daughter good luck :)
that is good she is not supposed to get germs so she can get infections. you have asmart 8 yr old
Buy toilet covers or one of those foldable potty seats/tops for her to use.
i have no advce accept you should talk to her pediatrician .
im 25 yrs old and i still wont sit on public toilets, if the toilets look nasty like they haven't been cleaned in over a month or so, and if there isn't any toilet sheets to put on the toilet b4 i use it then i wont use the toilets, unless i really really had to pee or something then i would just put some toilet paper down on the toilet seat and use it, other than that i'll wait til i got home to use my own bathroom!
she might be worried about germs. try placing toilet paper around the seat and have her sit on that.
many people have this problem. and actually I would prefer not to sit on the public toilet seats myself.
I dont sit on them either. Yuck. I dont even go into them unless I am absolutely dying. I dont make a mess, but Im also not 8. Buy some paper toilet seat covers and take them with you when you go anywhere and let her use them when she needs to sit on the toilet.
