Any women out there taking the CILEST CONTRACEPTIVE PILLS? What are they like?
Is there anyone out there whos on this pill and does it have any side affects other than putting on weight. What other pills out there really do have good points about them.
Im a bit worried as my doctor/nurse didnt spend much time going through the various pills available, she just told me what to have. She never smiles either....

hi, no, they never do smile do they! i took it for a while, made me regular but i did get a lot of headaches.however, i've stopped taking another 2 pills for the same reason so maybe just me..good luck.yasmin or was it jasmin was good, the best i've taken, no side effects..not bothering with anything now.married for a few years so not much need!
ive been on cilest, they dont always make u gain weight. the can regulate ur cycle or they can play havoc. i cant recommend pills now thow as i use implanon implant..the best invention ever. so id recommend the implant, u dont av to remember to take it and once its in ur safe for 3-5 years.
i was on that same pill a few years ago before i had my 3 children and never had any problems i never put on any weight and my periods were alway regular without much pain as well, i only changed pill wen i had my babies
No need to worry! I've been taking Cilest since i was 16 (24 now) and i've not come across any ill effects. I certainly didnt put on any weight? The only thing thats changed is that my periods have become quite a bit lighter and dont last as long!
The doctor wont give you more than a six months supply at one time anyway, this way they can keep track of your blood pressure etc, so everything should be fine.
Good luck and dont forget the Pill doesnt protect you from STD's!
My partner took this pill for a few months and suffered terrible migranes as a side effect. The doc took her off them because of the risk of stroke and she's been fine since. She never had migranes before she took it but she's ok now she's off it. |Everybody's different tho so give it a try, it might be ok for you.
i was on cilest for about 4 yrs i didnt have any side affects at all not evan putting on weight and it sorted my periods out i was never regular until i went on them i dont think you have anything to worry about i would recommend them if they dont work for you go back and ask her to change them good luck and dont worry. x
I have used Cilest for many years,it's regulated my periods and i have not put weight on due to this pill! I have also taken breaks to have children returned to the pill- Cilest without any probs! but if u unhappy with it then arrange to see another doctor! goodluck!!
I've been on cilest for years, not put on any weight with it, not had any side effects from it. But that does vary from person to person, so all you can do is try it out for a while, if you think it is affecting you in adverse ways, go back and ask to try another. Can take a while to find one to suit you, but they're used to that and won't mind. If you're not comfortable with your own GP, go to your local family planing clinic. (Do not go on the injection, that one really does make you put on weight!)
Hi i was on Cilest 2 years ago i Had bad side affects i was getting bad migraines, violent towards my boyfriend, putting on wait now i am on the mini pill hope this helps but everyone is different

Hi, I used to have really irregular periods and when I was living in the UK, the doctor did ultra sound scans etc and never found any problems. I now live in Australia and when I mentioned my irregular periods, they gave me a blood test and found that I have a problem with my pituitary gland where it wasn't releasing prolactin. Get them to check your hormone levels to make sure you don't have the same. If you have the same problem, you could have problems conceiving later in life. Mine is now normal and have just started taking Jasmin for contraception. I had some minor side effects at the beginning ie. anxiety etc but I think it was all in my mind as I was worried about having side effects! I haven't gained any weight (yet!) but went specifically on this pill as they said it was the best so as to not gain weight. Hope this helps.
