Is it possible for a woman to be pregnant and not know untill her last week of pregnancy?

she has hints but is finding it hard to accept untill she actually believes she is not.

Answers:
I believe it is possible although many people will find THAT impossible to believe.

When I worked as a Paramedic, we were called out in the early hours of the morning to a lady who had excruciating abdominal pain. She already had a toddler and her husband was also with her. We did ask if she could POSSIBLY be pregnant - she said NO!

As we got her to the hospital, babies head started to appear. I am not sure who was more shocked, her or the father.

So, bearing in mind she had already been pregnant ONCE and had gone through childbirth ONCE, it is possible.
Yes
IMPOSSIBLE
No way.This is not possible.
Yes its possible, it happens from time to time, usually read their stories in magazines.
Only if she is quite stupid.
?what?
Well if you add up the missed periods with the bulging tummy and other telltale signs, it's pretty hard to stay unaware about a pregnancy, but if she is very overweight and is in denial (in a major way).but even then a pregnancy is very difficult to ignore. But why would she even want to?
I've been pregnant twice and I simply refuse to believe that someone could not know that they were pregnant. Unless she's really fat, that is.
Yes its possible but it only happens to a few people a year, perhaps she was still having periods and genuinely didn’t know or she may have just been putting off telling anyone because she was in denial.
I wouldn't think so. You can feel the baby move and kick etc, your tummy would be huge, you'd stop taking your period! I think you'd know for sure.
My sister was 7 and a half months gone, when she found out, she is a big girl so you couldnt tell , but it was a shock to us all but we all felt guilty because we had lots of boozy nights and we were scared about what might happen to the baby but is just fine!! My sister thought her pregnancy was gas so she stopped drinking coke but that didnt help, it was only when she went to the doctor she found out
Well I would imagine a 40 year old woman who is very fat, and she does not realise she is pregnant, because her weight does not increase very much, and she thinks her period is gone because of menopause. At least that's a case I saw on ER.it was funny, but it guess it can happen.
A friend of mine had polycyctic ovaries and was a bit on the large side, her weight would fluctuate between and 7lbs to a stone either way easily, she would have months of having no periods then having one or two then none again for ages. She didn't realise she was pregnant until it was time to give birth.

I would never have believed unless I had witnessed it, I have always asked the same question, but now I see how it happens.
that is just preposterous. how does she explain the bulging tummy then?
yes its very possible, some women, especially larger women can go through pregancy without every finding out. I know of women who have rushed to the emergency room not knowing what was going on and having doctors tell them " this baby is ready to come out" and them going"what baby?" Alot of women will not have any symptons throughout pregancy, and some women will even bleed during pregnancy. With bigger women they may think they are just gaining a little weight. Though it seems uncommon for women to just not know, it isnt really very rare..
Yes, if she's a fat cow like Sonia from Eastenders. lol
It's possible, but it's pretty rare. I remember reading about a woman who thought she had a recurrence of her tumor, and decided she would not pursue treatment for it because the treatment had been so horrible before. Then she went to the hospital when the pain got too bad, and out popped her daughter!
i think it could be possible!
Yes it has hpappened to quite a few women
Yes. My friend was pregnant, and didnt know. She was feeling unwell for a few days and thought she had a mild tummy bug as the pain came and went.

one night she woke up wet, thought she had wet the bed, then realised there was blood coming out. Ambulance took her to hospital and she gave birth to a baby girl.

She had no idea she was pregnant, she was overweight which must have hidden it a bit, the baby was full term, but small, but my friend was totally shocked by it. She had no idea as her periods had continued throughout.

The doctors said sometimes it happens that no bump or other signs show, and he had only seen two other women have the same thing during his career.
Yes it is possible though hardly possible to believe. This happened to my own Sister-in-Law. She had her periods right up until she gave birth and also she never put on any weight even though she gave birth to a healthy baby girl weighing in at 8 lbs.

I was pregnant myself at the same time and was like the size of a small cow. I was staggered when she gave birth three weeks after me. I was ill during that pregnancy and she was as fit as a fiddle and had no idea she was expecting until she went into labour. No maternity cloths for her!
Yes, very much so. There are many reported cases of women going into labour thinking they were really ill because they didn't realise that they were pregant at all.

Some women continue to have "periods" throughout their pregancy and larger ladies might be less inclined to notice a little more weight and the bump perhaps might not be noticeable through the fat (sorry, I don't mean to be rude)

However, I remember a number of years ago reading in the paper about an 18year old girl who was a very pretty model - there was a photo of her taken from a photo shoot the previous week in a blue leotard. I could totally understand that she would not have thought she might be pregnant, she was so very slim. Sometimes the baby can sit in such a way that the bump sort of goes in rather than out. This poor unsuspecting girl though she was suffering from apendicitis, when out popped a baby!!

Discovering a pregancy late on might be a bit of denial earlier on in the pregancy, or it might be that it hadn't occured to the expectant mum for reasons stated above.

I think 9 months of pregancy is necessary for the parent to be to get used to the idea (as well as for the baby to grow obviously) - it must be such a huge shock to find out so late on.
It's possible, but the denial must be very strong in her. I think she should become terms with reality before she finds herself in the web of life-lies. For such lies that you tell yourself, and that affect your whole life you can find deterring examples in Chekhov's dramas and millions of other pieces of world literature. And none of them has a happy ending.
So she should stop lieing to herself and start to become frank with herself and with the ppl around her.
I doubt it very much!!!
YES!! it happened to a friend of mine. I believe her when she said she didn't know she was pregnant because of the circumstances she was in when she gave birth. she was at glastonbury festival, taking lots of drugs and drinking heavily. On the saturday night she started having excruciating pains and was rushed to the medical tent. 5 hours later out popped her baby girl. she was a big girl and DID NOT KNOW she was pregnant. Logic says, if she had of done, she certianly would'nt have gone to a music festival on the weekend she was due to give birth, and done what she did when she was there. BTW she called her 'Avalon' the old english name for the town of glastonbury. she is now a very healthy 18 year old!!
this is a hard one i have a friend who is about 100 lbs over weight a supposedly went her whole pregnancy not knowing but she had irregular periods and or no periods the entire time when she went in to give birth she though she was having a miscarriage. my theory is that baby's move and how can you confuse a kick with gas bubbles? and most people have cravings or morning sickness or breast sensitivities so it would be hard but it also could be possible i say stock up on pregnancy test and always be certain!! good luck
I know someone who was constantly getting tumors on her tubes..her Dr. set her up for a historectomy..she was a "bigger" lady & when she went in 7 mo's later for the surgery prep work, they discovered she was 6 1/2 mo's with twins!..Yes!.true story...
The tumors she would get had been causing her to not have periods for months at a time..& also put on weight..she would gain anywhere from 15-30lbs at times..so it was no big deal to her with the missed periods or the weight gain.
What surprised her..she already had 2 sons..one was 15 one was 17. The Father had never had kids & he was 45.she was 40. It was a Surprise, but a welcome surprise..the twins are a boy & a girl..& now almost 8 yrs old.
It happens.
yah i heard of this story where this girl had a baby and didnt know untill she actully went to the hospital but didnt know she was in labour
was a dum teen was drinking lots and everything during pregancy
still had a heathy baby without fas
crazy hey!!
Yes,it's possible.Recently,I read a newspaper article that a pregnant woman(only 15 years old)did not know that she was pregnant until her delivery. Her family thought she was putting on weight. When she complained that she had stomachache, her mother gave her painkillers. Then,it got too serious and her parents called for the ambulance.
Yes.. it's more common in *ahem* 'larger' women though.
