Can you get pregnant again straight after having a baby? I want twins but if not i'll have one straight after

Answers:
YES!! I can't be bothered to read most of the rubbish you've been given for answers here. All I can tell you is that I have two children and they're 11 months apart. It was planned that way. They are both extremely healthy (never had a day off school, either of them and they're 6 and 7 now). I am also extremely healthy and never had any problems with either pregnancy - both births were by c-section. If you are a fit, strong person I would thoroughly recommend a small age gap but be prepared for a very difficult first couple of years - but I promise it gets soooo much better and it's the best thing I ever did. GOOD LUCK x x x
YES U CAN IN FACT UR MORE FERTILE AFTER BIRTH GOOD LUCK WITH THE TWINS.and to the idiot below me breastfeeding has nothing to do with a woman's fertility after birth sshhheeesh Please see a doctor beacause i really dont recommend taking the advice of some of these Idiots
yes, you can get pregnant after having a baby, but you need to wait approx. 6 weeks if it was vaginal birth and your doctor said to abstain during this time.
u wont get pregnant if u r breast feeding. its best to wait for at least 3 months after having a baby before having sex.
Yes, you sure can. I have 2 kids that are 14 months apart and I've even known of people who have went in for their six week check only to find out they are pregnant again.
yes u can b/c u just had a baby
yeah, what do u mean straight after? like that very night? i doubt ud be up for it
Yes. They will be 9 months apart. I know people that have done that. Good luck.
you can but it is extremely unhealthy for you and the baby to be, your body takes a full year to regenerate what it has lost after having a child, and your baby needs everything your body can give to be healthy, WAIT FOR AWHILE!!
That's not healthy, you should wait at least 6 months, or preferably a year before getting pregnant again. It can cause damage to your body and the baby.
yes you can..but it is not healthy for your body or the babies.your body needs time to heal.
You can get pregnant the next time you ovulate, but it isn't recommended. It's best to give your body some time to recover and your brain some time to adjust to being a parent. I would say wait 6 months-- at least. Then your kids will be 15-16 months apart.
You have to wait until after your six-week check-up before you can have sex again. Most doctors will recommend that you wait 18 months before having another baby. Having a baby drains your body of a lot of nutrients. Most new mothers are anemic. Plus, studies have shown that women who conceive less than six months after giving birth may have a higher risk for complications such as a ruptured uterus, or giving birth to a premature or low- birth weight baby.

And btw, that "you can't conceive while breastfeeding" is an old myth that has long been proven false. You're actually more fertile after giving birth.
If you breastfeed you can minimize your chances of getting pregnant. But right after giving birth is the prime time for your body to get pregnant again because it's still out of whack from all the hormones from the previous pregnancy. Many doctors don't recommend a woman to get pregnant right away because another pregnancy can dimminish your reserves (calcium, iron etc..) and hurt both you and the baby, but it's possible to get pregnant right away.
I think that people like you need to get alife. You have all these kids then go on shows because you can't even go out in public because your family acts like a travelling carnival act. Wait to have more children, for your own mental well being. Thanks.
It sounds like you are only doing what you want and you're not thinking about what is best for the health of your baby and you. You should wait at least 6 months after having a baby to become pregnant again. Pregnancy takes so much out of you, and you need to make sure you have built yourself up again before repeating the process.

Good luck. I wouldn't want kids that close in age. It makes it hard to enjoy any of them because you are so busy. My oldest boy was almost 3 when his twin brothers were born. I think that is a good age difference. If you do end up having twins, I hope you have help lined up. My mom basically lived with my family for the first three months after the twins were born. The twins, my older boy, and the chores to get done were absolutely exhausting.I sure hope you are up for it!

One more thing.to Anna.it is completely NOT true that you can't get pregnant while breast feeding. I have known several women who have become pregnant while breast feeding.
yes becuse i have a friend got pregnant again after her baby was 7 weeks old
I GOT PREGNANT WITH MY 2ND BABY WHEN MY 1ST WAS 3 WKS OLD, THEYRE 10 MO APART. IT IS THE EASIEST TIME IN THE WORLD TO GET PREGNANT I THINK. I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS THO BC IT HURTS UR BODY IN A WAY THAT U DONT SEE 4 YEARS. WAIT AT LEAST 4 MO TO GET PREGNANT AGAIN, AND ENJOY UR TIME W UR NEW BABY--THEY GROW UP QUICK. GOOD LUCK.
Why don't you see how you feel when you've given birth? And been awake for most of the night for six weeks?

I also heard that you can't get pregnant while breastfeeding.
Breastfeeding does lower your chances to get pregnant, but posibility is still there and it shouldn't be neglected. Anyway, it's better to wait some time before you get pregnant again (about a year), because woman's body has to have some rest.
PS. It's really not nice calling people idiots, especially when they're right

You mean not if you'll have two straight after.People of low IQ(Intelligence quotient)should not be allowed to have babies.
yep, my kids are 51 weeks apart. You have to be extra careful because that is when you are most fertile.
Yes you can. Be very careful as you are more fertile after having a baby.It took me a year to get prgnant with my first son, then only a month to get pregnant with my second.
be thankful to get one healthy baby, don't overdo it either, twins are not double the work of one baby, it's more like triple the work. Good luck
to clear up the breast feeding issue. The production of prolactin during breastfeeding suppresses the release of eggs from the ovary in some women. However, this contraceptive effect is only true if you are fully breastfeeding a baby aged less than six months.

This means that you must:

• be breastfeeding at regular intervals, day and night (feeds no longer than six hours apart),
• be giving your baby no other food or drink, so no breastfeeds are missed, and
• have had no normal periods since the baby’s birth.

Even if you fulfil these conditions, there is still a chance you could get pregnant.
Yes its very easy to do so but it is hard work as if you were to have twins they are born at the sane time where as to get pregnant with a new baby not only are you tired becuase ther are sleepless nights the tiredness of pregnancy kicks in . trust me its hard work
yes you can get pregnant straight after having a baby but please think about what your about to do. Having twins my self and a young child is not easy.think about having to spend an hour each time in the night when they need feeding (at least 3-4 times)saying this they can be rewarding but please don't do this on a whim it is hard work. but if you already have a young baby and you have a good support system from hubby and family then good luck to you.
