Im 37 weeks pregnant.?
Btw, I started feeling this pain in my lower back since yesterday but it eventually fades away after a rest and then back after a while. Is it normal?
Answers:
I want to say that yeah it is normal. BUT, to be on the safe side, start writing down the time you feel each and every contraction and the intensity of the pain. What you could be feeling is your cervix beginning to dilate, which can start weeks before you actually go into labor. That and your body getting into position for the upcoming birth. I think that list is the best deciding factor and after recording them for like 4 hours (unless they're less than 5 minutes apart) contact your doctor and ask him/her what they feel you should do.
With my first son I was dilated 2-3 cm and had him like 2 weeks later. With my second son, I had back pain for an entire day. I started writing down the times at 2pm and went to the hospital around 8pm (after I was finished with all my errands and appointments). I ended up having my son right after midnight. Follow your instincts. If you don't feel like everything is ok, then that's what your doctor is there for, but the list of times will help a lot.
Im 37 weeks and feel the same way. My back is bugging me. But we have to remember we have extra weight in the front. Of course it will take a toll on our back! Its almost over..
Call your Doctor and describe it to him/her. She can tell you if it is false labor or if it is real. But since you are 37 weeks it can very well be real.
During the last weeks of pg connection between pubic bones softens and kind of stretches, to make it easier for the baby to move through birth canal. It may cause symptoms you describe. It is absolutely normal, but it means the baby is gonna be soon.. . Try to rest your back by relaksing in the position on your knees and elbows( when belly hangs out down) - it is the best technique I know to get rid of any back pains- it doesn't cost to try, and from my own experience I know it works miracle. Hardening it is nothing else but your uterus is "exercising" contractions. Good luck and best wishes - Robin
You will experience many weird pains in pregnancy. The lower back pain may be because of all of the weight you are carrying in the front. When I was pregnant I had lower back pain but it was because I had a kidney infection. I was dehydrated. Make sure you drink so much water you feel like you are drowning in it! The hardening in your stomach could be the baby tensing up. Or it could be your stomach irritated by something you ate. I believe it is too early to be getting "Braxton Hicks." those are like "practice contractions". Just hang in there there will be more to come! Pregnancy is a beautiful thing so enjoy it! Good luck!
The lower back pain sounds like sciatica a common problem with late pregnancy. Try putting a cold pack on your lower back or a cold flannel to help relieve it. Also when you go to sleep, sleep on your side with a pillow between your knees to keep relieve pressure on hips and lower back.
Remember though, that lower back pain also occurs when you are in labour too.
The hardening is probably Braxton Hicks, but if you're worried, get your midwife to check you out.
Good luck.
yes i think what you are experiencing is just the baby getting ready to be born. the pain in your back will be the pressure of the baby pressing on a nerve. if you are still worried see your midwife to put your mind at ease .good luck
Its very normal-- the hormones in pregnancy soften all the ligaments in your back and the same goes for the pelvis
I would carry on doing what you are but try rest as much as possible-- try a warm bath with radox once in a while and put your feet up trust me when this babes comes u wont get any rest..
If it's getting too much go see the gp he may refer you for some much needed physio on the areas that have become troublesome..
Take great care-- and labour can start in the back-- back labour is the most painful of them all so don't rule it out completely
good luck and congratulations, my son is 6 now but you are experiancing is your body getting ready for labour, i will tell you my labour pains where just a backache nothing else no pain that was it, at 37weeks you are classed as full term so it can happen anytime now, the pain you are having is called bracton hicks they are pratice labour pains and perfectly normal, when you get pregnant your bones sofen to make way for your baby growing. Like i said the backache was just my labour, dont worry enjoy and wait for your baby, nothing will happen to you get your show which i had after about a day of the backache feeling and my waters broke, let me know what you have
Its time to get that yukky mixture of pure orange juice and caster oil in a glass.give it a stir, and with a deep breathe..DRINK IT! the british swear it gets the labour going.but then so does a bit of rampant sex! choice is yours.which one would u prefer!?
Serious now..it sounds like your in labour! I had a back labour with my 1st! the hospital gave me to paracetamol and told me i was fine...liars! i went on 2 have a 7lb 10oz baby about 2hrs later! Unless u are experiencing the good old Braxton Hicks!
Good Luck
