Are mothers that bottle feed seen as bad mothers?

Bottle rather than breast?

Answers:
People keep saying that formula has the same nutrients as breast milk and that is INCORRECT. Breast milk has many many more substances, including antibodies which are not found in formula.

It is a proven medical fact that breast milk is better for babies in everything from immunity to brain development / intelligence to obesity and diabetes in later life. Some people are even now trying to accuse increasing rates of ADHD in the population on increased bottle-feeding. Some people even say social skills are improved by the love bond facilitated by breast feeding. So i would personally pick the breast over the bottle.

However i dont think anyone in 2006 is CRAZY enough to assume that a woman who chooses to bottle feed is a "bad mother". THere are many reasons why women to choose the breast or bottle.. and the truth is that most babies arent looked after by the mothers for the most part.

Bottle feeding doesnt make a bad mother - neglect, abuse being, uncaring and unresponsive thats what make a bad mother. If someone is accusing you of being a bad mom because you choose not to, tell her that nicolette gave you permission to flip them the birdie.
I WOULD DO BOTTEL
no as long as its their milk everythings fine..especially for the baby.
No. And don't let anyone make you think otherwise.
Not at all..as long as the baby is happy.everyone is happy :)
No. I think it's kinda gross, the whole breast feeding thing. Bottles are the way to go!
Yes..why pump a newborn baby full of unecessary chemicals, when you can give it something so natural as it's own mothers milk.It also helps it to build up it's immune system. If you can you should.
no
Well I should hope not..they are feeding their baby and that is a good thing. Breast feeding is probably healthier though.
NO! There is absolutely nothing wrong with bottle feeding a baby!
Not seen as a bad mother, in my eyes. Every parent has a right to choose breastfeeding or bottlefeeding. It's up to you and I don't know of any stigma attached to either choice.
No not at all - there is nothing wrong with bottle feeding. Sometimes the bottle is the only thing that the baby will drink from.
no i dont think so who cares anyways.i didnt breast feed cause my milk never came in so i used the bottle plus i would have even if my milk did come its easier for the mother so that the father can feed the baby as she takes a bath or a nap
Not in my eyes. I did both. If anyone feels so strongly that they have to categorize a mother as bad for that reason, maybe they need to take a good look at the example they are setting for their children - they are teaching their children to judge and criticize people.
I don't think so. It is better for your baby to breast feed and you probably already know that. It is up to you. I was breast fed and I am a very healthy man that happens to love sucking on them to this day.
I feel they are not. I have five children and four of them were allergic to my breast milk and one I was able to breast feed till seven months. It is a woman's personal right to choose what is comfortable for her.
no, not at all!
No, mothers that breast feed are seen as bad wives because their boobs and nips get all stretched out and distorted.
heck no
No some mothers can't breast feed due to stress or other issues they don't produce enough or any milk. Some also just choose not to I would find it hard to believe anybody who calls someone a bad mother due to that.
I've never understood the thinking of mothers who choose bottle feeding. Breast feeding is sooooo much easier (especially at 2 am) and is better for baby, too.
i didnt breast feed my son at all and he is healthier than all my friends children. He never gets sick or has time off school he is happy and active, my friends have even commented that they wish they hadnt breast fed because their kids always seem to be sick and mine doesnt. do what you think is right and dont listen to anyone else.
No. cuz sometimes it is just the child that is the problem with breast feeding and stuff. I was first breast feeding but then I was a big baby and i gave hickies on my mother's hooters. lol. So we went to bottle feeding. Then my sister couldn't sit still long enough to breast feed and would rather drink a bottle in the stroller. But then my 3rd sister was breast fed normally so. I don't see why there should be any discrimination on women who don't breast feed.
You are NOT a bad mother if you choose to bottle feed. Some think that the breast is the only way to go but you have to do what you feel is best for you and your baby.
no. some mothers have to do it for various reasons. for example some mothers may need to take medication after birth therefore in order to cause no harm to the growing baby would not breast feed there-by showing love for the infants well being.
no
I dont think so, its not laziness, there may be many reasons for not chooising to breast feed.
No- Some Babys Wont Take Milk From There Mothers Breast. That Doest Mean You Are Bad. Every Baby IS Differant.
no. some ppl cant breast feed. my first son was breast fed for about 4 months and my second son was only breast fed for like 2 weeks. and is now bottle fed. some ppl cant produce milk like others
Heaven Sake NO! You being a bad mother has nothing to do whether you chose to feed by bottle or breast! Being a good mother is how you set an example for your child, and feeding, changing, and bathing your baby. As they grow how you address matters to your child, and by just being the best mother you can be. To me a bad mom is all the opposite of what I have written. Have fun with your baby if its yours, remember they don't stay little to long. ;-) Parents also protect their babies no matter how old they are. Good Luck!
I think the first answer says it all.

But don't feel bad if your child feeds from the bottle and can't spell, you can always beat that into them
They shouldn't be! It's so much more convenient, especially if you're planning to have a career! You can still bond with your baby during feeding time even if you're using a bottle.
