I think it depends on how deep you cut yourself as to how visible they are. If they have scarred already, then yes you will have them forever, they might not be obvious always as over time with your skin ageing and exposure to the elements they will fade. If you still feel troubled by what led you to that conclusion then maybe you ought to go have a chat with your doc, they should be able to help.
