Contracetive injection?
hi can you help me, i was wondering if i could get the contraceptive injection if im not on my period yet i am getting cramps
Answers:
The first time you get a depo provera shot you must be inbetween day 3-5 of your period, after that you are scheduled every 12 weeks. It will not be effective if you are not on your period the first time you get it. Read up on it before you decide, it can have some nasty side effects.
You can get it at any time!
go talk to your doctor,nurse or your local family planning centre.

I had lots of trouble with this contraceptive method, i was on it for 18 months and in that time i put on over 3 stone i has a period every 20 weeks for half a day, i started to leak milk and developed poly cystic ovaries i dont know if this was because of the injection but this injection really messed me up inside i will never have it again and iv had friends its done the same things to them as it did to me. But it does effect different people different ways so good luck to you if you have it
I have this injection done too. I have to go back (to my doctor) every 3 or 4 months to have it done. So far, it has caused me absolutely NO problems whatsover! I find it to be the most reliable drug for for putting a complete stop to my periods, and now I don't even get the stomach cramps that I used to get before I went on this depra provera injection. (stomach cramps and periods - YUKKKEEE, HORRIBLE!)
It has lifted such a weight off my shoulders and given me a happier outlook on my body too.
I believe that one of the side effects to this drug, is that it can make you put on weight, and maybe get fat, but I think I have been okay so far, and haven't really gained a lot of weight to what I originally weighed.
I guess I'm just really lucky with this drug, unlike like some who seemed to have bad side effects like blood and milk, to which I have had absolutely NONE of these whatsover!

You need to have had a period before you can get the injection to be sure you are not pregnant! At the start of your period make an appointment & then you can get it!
