there are a lot of women you are diabetic and pregnant and have healthy babies. there are risks for everything, even if you are not diabetic. i would say just keep going to your doctor while your pregnant so that he can monitor you and guide you through. good luck!
Consult your OB/GYN for the best advice. I would hate for you to take unprofessional advice and act on it then incounter problems.
Im sure if you kept your Dr. informed about everything there wouldnt be a problem.
get a good doctor my mother had 4 children and she is diabetic! ( 7 of us all togethr.i'm the oldest 23, my baby sister is 2)of-course the pegnancies where not as easy going as most womens but she came thru fine and her children are healthy and happy and I'd have to say after going thru a pregnancy like that, i think she doesn't take them for granite.
Talk to your OBGYN. lots of people with diabetes have children and if you are in good health and managing your dibetes well, there is no reason you cannot have children. Be sure your OBGYN knows and talks to your primary MD so they can manage your conditions together.
Many diabetics have successfully delivered. You need to get a physician who specializes in this field. you should be okay if you follow that advice. Take good care of yourself and keep your diabetes under control.
Just pray and ask help from Jesus, there is no other way!!
There's loads of information out there, try the DoH website (www.dh.gov.uk) - I work in a doctors surgery and as long as you are aware of the implications, there's really nothing to worry about! Your practice nurse or Diabetic specialist GP will be able to advise you :-)
Science and medicine is getting better daily and as long as you monitor your vitals and take REALLY good care of your self with eating and all that I think you would come out just fine. I don't know that much about complications that can occurr, but I have worked in group homes with people that are diabetic, and if they stuck to ALL natural things, and kept on their meds they were usually fine, or just slightly up. I will keep you in my prayers, I think that if you trust God through it all he will bring you through with a beautiful baby!
my ex wife has type 1 diabetes, as long as you go to see your doctor everything will be OK. good luck to you
the best advise is talk with your docter to find out all the risk good luck
a friend of mine fell pregnant a few yrs ago - & shes now got a healthy son.yes she had probs - she had 2 check her blood evry few hrs - & she was under constant care of the doc but she had a normal pregnancy.dont deny urself the chance 2 b a mum cos of disease - so go 4 it!if ur still worried i recommend a chat wiv ur doc who can best advise u on this - & pls let us know when u get pregnant!
Go for it but check with your doctor. My brother's wife is dieabetic and they have 2 beautiful kids and the kids are very healthy but the doctor has told them that another one would not be wise so check with your doctor. You will just be catagorized as a high risk. The doctor's do that so dont get concern.
im 34 weeks pregnant and type 1 diabetic, you can email me if you want dreeamer86@yahoo.com.au
Ask the docs, this is indpeth. If American docs can't be trusted, simply because their goal is money; then ask a UK doc as they get paid incentives for cureing. But ask one on the national health service.

My really good friend is pregnant right now and she is diabetic..she's just fine. I say if you want a baby and you thionk it is your time then you should do it. Just monitor your blood surgars often and keep your dr informed if anything strange with them happens.
Hi. I think you know the answer already. If you are controlling your diabetes and aware of the risks then you are capable of making an informed decision. Yes there are risks, but you know about them in advance. Many pregnancies can contain 'hidden' risks but you've got the heads up. Discuss it with your doctor first, but go for it if you really want to.
Listen, I don't have much experience of this disease, but pregnancy can have an effect on it. Nobody on these boards are qualified to tell you properly.
Consult your doctor who will explain the risks and what pregnancy will mean for someone with your condition. My friend is diabetic and has had 3 children, so I don't think its impossible.
Talk to your doctor or a qualified health professional who can advise you better before you do anything else.
Good luck!
go for it but talk to your doctor first to get advice on any special care you may need to take.
your doctor can go through any risks with you the one thing i do know is that you are more likely to have a larger baby.
good luck
The only risk in pregnancy with diabetes is the growth and size of the baby-- midwives do pay special attention to you when you are diabetic and women do have pregnancy induced diabetes which fortunately goes away once baby is born..
You will get lots of support with medication etc. The best thing u can do is visit your gp-- he will advise on wether it is favourable for you to get pregnant or not-- i don't know about your weight but that will be another factor too. he should put you right
My mum is a diabetic and I don't have diabetes. She had a pretty easy pregnancy, but had a lot of close contact with her doctor.
Like other people have said, discuss your options with your doctor.
My mum had to reduce her insulin dosage, but that was almost 25 years ago. I'm sure it's much easier now to make sure mum and baby are healthy.
Don't let your diabetes hold you back from having a family, but make sure you're well informed.
Good luck!
