Try a baby name book from another English speaking country. What are common names there could still be quite unheard of in the UK. Otherwise, old fashioned names are always familiar but not widespread amongst babies of the Noughtees. I am not suggesting Mabel or Gertrude, but Alice, Dorothy etc. would be a bit different from all of the Clare's and Sarah's (no offence) and there woun't be the pronunciation problems involved with obscure names.
For girls:
Aoife - it's an irish girl's name said Ee-ffa
Seren - means star in Welsh
Bethan
Jenson is a great boy's name so is Blue. But what about Jacinta for a gril.
