Any suggestions for names for a baby - either sex?
We don't know if we're having a boy or a girl yet, but we can't decide on names for either. Can anyone suggest a modern and not too popular name, but that's also not so weird the child will not thank us in a few years?

Names are so personal it's hard to say. However, check out these sites for inspiration:

Look into your new blessings eyes, or pray for a name to be revealed to you.
arachnid for a boy and tachnid for a girl. YES! I win.
Samuel
I like the name Eve for a girl, although I would not be able to use it because my husband's name is Adam. I also like the name Peyton for girl or boy. I like the name Rhett for a boy.
Morgan
Taylor
Lennon
Girls - Faith, Carla, Tamsin, Elizabeth (my faves)
Boys - Thomas, Jack, Charles, Edward (all good solid names that sound cool for school when shortened.)
Halie for a girl & Kory for a boy
Seth for a boy and Dawni for a girl
bevan (boy)
teagan/teegan(unisex)
serene(girl)
moya (girl)
i chose a french name for my daughter, its not too strange, but i bet she will be the only girl in her class at school called it.
i looked at english, spanish and french names on the internet, i was going to mess around with them but i found one i liked in the end. do you want to name your child after a relative, or use a relative's middle name?
just go on any search engine and type baby names, therres a huge choice, it tells you what was the most popular names in what year too
for a girl i like Evie or Scarlett, and a boy I like louie
My daughter who is 8, is called Kezia (pronounced kez-ee-ah) she loves it and we always get comments on how pretty her name is, its not common, but we have come accross another two, one of whom pronounces it Kez-eye-ah. Kezia was Job's daughter from the old testament, she was wise and beautiful and brought her family great fortune. I didn't know that when I named her though. John Wesley, of the Christian Wesleyan movement also named his daughter Kezia, it was popular in Georgian and early Victorian England.
For a boy, we liked Joshua or Jake, but I particularly liked Novak. Maybe not everyones cuppa though. Good luck naming your bundle of joy, and God bless.
Boy - Xano
Girl - Luna
I've never heard of either I just made them up so they should be quite rare ?
brogan is a nice name,
u should try irish names as they are different but not weird
I would love to call any son I gave birth to Logan. I never can come up with a girls name I like though.
jalalabadi
Alexander, Quentin, Marcus, James, Jerome, Xavier or Aaron
Kyla, Aminah (pronounced ah-mee-nah), Chayla, Alyssa, Janessa.
I love stronger names for both boys and girls. THe ones that end sounding like "e" often have soft names..
Also for boys- even though it would be great for a dad to have a jr- it sometimes doesnt fit the child. What i did with my middle son was look at him and gave him a name that fit him, which wasnt the first name his dad came up with. his name is Isaih- and I love it!
With my youngest- if i was going to have a girl, i was going to give her the name of Jolyn. That is my sisters middle name and my mother's name (she passed away 4 years ago). i always thought it was nice to incorporate family into a childs name.
My husband and I are not pregnant yet, but we've been trying for a couple of months and I can't stop thinking about babies! So I have already been looking at baby names! Here are my top names.
Girls: Heidi, Madeline, Makenna, Milla, Ruby, Violet
Boys: Jackson (my three-year-old's name), Wiley (what we will use if we have a boy)
For middle names I would suggest using the name of a family member. That is what we have done and plan to do again. Good luck and congrats!
Toni, Tony. Andi, Andy. Chris, Chris.
Max,Alex,Oliver,Flyn,Joe,Lewis.
Niamh,Ella,Darcy,Ellen,Louis...
Just some of my favourites x x

There's a bunch more.

Boys: Corbin, Grant, Clayton, Jamison
Girls: Brenna, Augusta, Greta
I like names that are a little different, especially older names that aren't *too* dated (Judy is a dated name, for example). The key is to pick a name that you feel has a certain flair, without being over the top.
Marley for a girl.
Caleb, for a boy
Congratulations!
I would wait a while before deciding on a name - It is OK to wait until the baby is born until you decide.
We didn't decide on our second child's name until he was born (in a hurry, in the bath) but when we did it fitted him perfectly - And NO: it wasn't Flash (like so many of our friends suggested).
Short names are popular for boys:
Ben
Sam
Tom
Joe
Harry
Girls:
Sally
Molly
Gaby
What is your surname??
That may sound silly to you but let me explain.
If your surname is White/Whyte or however you want to spell it.
If you have a daughter you could not call her Isla or Heather. Why?.Isla White.Lucky White Heather. Do you want a child to live with that?
Let us say your surname is Clark and you have a son.You call him Walter or William or something else starting with W.Problem that arises here is his initials.WC.
Wait until the child is born and then discuss this. After all, you don't have to register the birth straight away.
Sam, Gareth, Charlotte, Chloe,
I don't hear the name Paige too often anymore. I love the name Kennis for a girl but I got shot down ( it was a good reason) sigh.
What about Max, Alex or Andrew for a boy. The boy names are not so modern but you don't hear them often.
Summer is a nice name that is modern. But sometimes it is better to stick to the classic names like Alice Rose Harry and the classic Mark or Adam for boys they dont date and you never tire of them believe me I know
I never come up with a boy's name. I've always liked Maura, though I've never met her ;o)
