Do you agree that women should be able to breast feed in public?
Answers:
As far as I know, they are. I did it with my daughter. Sure, some people may comment as society has come to a point where many people view breasts as purely sex objects and, therefore, breastfeeding as some kind of obscene act. To me, there is nothing more obscene than watching a baby being fed something synthetic out of a bottle, which is so bad for the baby that it always vomits afterwards. Equally offensive is the sight of a woman breastfeeding her baby in cold, foul smelling public toilets, rather than risk offending by feeding publicly in the warm somewhere.
yes all the way
I agree that women should be able to breastfeed out of the house, but I wouldn't agree to them doing it in front of everybody.
yes they should, it's the most natural thing in the world
Yes. It's just a boob. Everyone has seen it before.
Yes, Im 6 and 1/2 months pregnant, and i cant wait to breast feed, its natural!
yes! a baby is not at fault that some retarded people get offended by the sight of a woman's breast.
Yes but it is possible to be discreet about it. I know it is natural but so are a lot of things that I don't want to see. I don't mind seeing a baby's head but exposed public breasts are just unfair.
Yes, it's perfectly natural
Yes! I did & used a light blanket to cover myself. I also would stake out the department store bathrooms at the larger malls as most have a sitting room area with a couch or loveseat. At an outlet mall near me, they have a Family bathroom. It's designed for parents with kids. Kid sized sinks, toilets, a few loveseats for breastfeeding. No one said anything negative to me, thank goodness!
of course, it's perfectly natural, but there is no need to go flashing. Just be discreet about it
I do agree, and I've actually seen woman breast feed in public. But I dont think teenage guys should stare at them and laugh. The woman;s just tryin to do her job and take care of her baby. No need to gap and stare at her! Just leave her alone, and let her do her job!
Absoultely. Although when I was breastfeeding I felt really uncomfortable doing it in public due to other people's attitudes and often used the mother and baby rooms. It wasn't much fun hiding behind a curtain in a shabby room while everyone else was out having fun.
No, not out in the open. It's okay if they go in a public restroom, but not out were everybody can see it! It makes me very uncomfortable even when I'm at my friends house and they're feeding their baby. I may be the only one, but that's how I feel!
I do agree that women should be able to breast feed in public. I do believe they should be respectful to passersby. Some women have no shame and don't care who sees, that is all good and well at their home, but in public not everyone is comfortable with that. As long as there is respect on both sides I don't see a problem. That is just my opinion on this subject. I am a mother that has breast feed in public. And I was discreet and respectful to the community and there was no real problem. Hope this helped. Blessings.
Yes I do it is completely natural. She would not be doing it as something wrong, if it where wrong then our bodies would not produce the milk. A lot of places are now making rooms for breastfeeding mothers to feed there babies, I also agree with this. It is nice to see that they are making it easier for you to feed your child.
yes that is perfictly fine some people might not like that but they can get over it
No, I do not want to experience your moment. This is between you and your child and the rest of us are just on lookers. Find a dressing room or a bathroom. I may be harsh but i dont want to be part of that picture. What do you get when people walk by are they trying to look or do they turn away? Please do that where i cant see, i didnt bring everyone into my private moment.
of course.otherwise, they must stay indoors with their babies for over 1 year..which isn't possible.
Are there ACTUALLY people who think otherwise?
Yes. It can be done and sometimes if done right without anyone else knowing.
Of course they should. It is the most natural thing to do in the world. We should be encouraging more women to breast feed, but when there has been so much hype as to where they can & can't feed, it's putting people off.
From that point of view, the answer is yes, for sure BUT,
how is a woman meant to feel comfortable feeding her baby when there as some pervs out there who will want to watch?
People who complain that women breast feed in public are probably the same people who complain if the baby is crying non-stop because the mother feels she can't feeed publicly.
What's the alternative? Breast feeding next to someone changing their kids nappy!!
Would you eat your meal in the toilets? No, then why should a baby!
You've started me off on a rant now!!
They should be allowed, people bottle feed in public. Since when is eating obscene .Why are breasts obscene for that matter, when your baby is hungry you have to feed it, wherever you are.
Yes. Breastfeeding really doesn't expose the breast if the mother has on a nursing bra so no one should be offended, even though anyone being offended by a baby getting nourishment is an idiot anyway! Breasts were sexualized by men and the media. They are mammary glands that produce milk for babies! Who cares if you see a little nipple? Get over it!
Yes they should. I personally do it, but I do try to do it subtly and keep covered up with a light blanket, or wear a nursing shirt so it isn't as obvious. If I am at a mall I often try to find a dressing room to use, but if there isn't one around, then I still feed my baby no matter how many people are around. Starbucks has been a good place for me. They usually have comfortable seats and I can usually turn away from most of the other people.
Yes absolutey. There is nothing wrong with it at all its natural and its good for the baby to get mothers milk when it needs it.
Its the people who complain who have the problem. I mean what goes through their heads to find it offensive?
Can they not differentiate between a nurturing mother and sexual activity?
Yes yes and triple yes! People that complain about breast feeding in public are just plain dumb
I agree. I have breast fed both of my kids and am planning on doing it again. I have always b/f in public, just wit some modesty. Where I live a woman can not be penalized for bearing her breast in public if she is breastfeeding. I think that its great. Mothers should not be ashamed of breastfeeding, its natural. Besides that is the reason God gave us Breasts. Sorry guys they werent originally for you.
In Missouri, a woman has the legal right to breastfeed in public. According to the law all that's required is "reasonable discretion."
No, it makes people feel uncomfortable.
Not because of the nudity thing but because it is a personal bonding thing between mother and child, and this is a little to open for Western people to accept.
But then again i say this from the perception of a person with no children, if i was a mother then I'm sure I'd feel differently, so i suppose i have no grounds to comment.
I'm sure if you have a screaming baby in public, and the child is hungry it's hard to ignore your child's need.
Yes. I do it and won't be banished to the toilet to feed my baby. Of course, I cover up.
Honestly, if you walk in the road, you will see women always try to show their brest as more as possible in order to present themselves as sexy. They cover as little as possbile. So, there is no difference whether they keep their brest open in public or not. Further nudist people made this approach very normal to everyone. Therefore, there is no difference left whether they feed in front of public or not.
