Why do you poo when giving birth?
Hi i have read the answers to the "did you poo when giving birth?"
but i would like to find out why it happens. Does anyone no?
Answers:
just one of those things that happens unfortunately (didn;t happen to me though). You are pushing hard to get the baby out and are using the same muscles that you use to poo. The inevitable sometimes happens!
Because you're pushing so hard down there, and if you've eaten anything lately, you will poo.
because you are straining to push out the baby and somtimes you can push pressure on your anus and poo as well
With all that pushing and contracting what do you think happens.
And since you are so interested in poo, gues what happens when you die and your sphincter relaxes? You got it!
From the pushing. It will probably happen whether you have eaten that day or not. I had nothing to eat that day but toast for breakfast and had my son at 5:30 pm and embarrassing enough it happened to me.
because the baby comes out of your bumhole covered in poo! why do you think?
the muscles you us to push the baby out are all linked and i was also told it is to clear the passages to make it easy to deliver the baby without obstruction
if you push hard enough to get a watermelon out of a peach, you're pushing hard enough to force things out of other holes, too lol.but on a serious note some of the hormones involved in birth.oxytocin particularly, loosen the bowels.sometimes, women in the early stages of labor have so much oxytocin in their systems that they get diarrhea. it's normal, and trust me.the doctors are used to it, but it's still humiliating.
The strain is a big part of it. Another big part of it is the fact that most women request some sort of painkiller in the form of a numbing agent (such as an epidural). This prevents them from being able to differentiate between muscle groups when pushing out the baby and it can occur.
Some women either request or are given an enema short after labor onset to prevent this, but it really doesn't do any harm. And it isn't as common as you think.
When giving birth, in order for the baby to be delivered vaginally it is necessary to relax all the Kagel muscles and sphincter muscles. The anus is a sphincter. There is a great deal of pressure and on top of that, the mother must push. Inevitably, any matter in the rectum will be expelled during pushing. Normally, the mother is given an enema to reduce the amount of matter expelled. It is perfectly natural and happens to all women who give birth vaginally.
I've never had a natural childbirth, but with my first son I tried to push, and when a woman is trying to push the baby out you have to push like your going to have a bowel movement. So i guess someone could really "poo" when giving birth. Hope that answers your question.
Only because of all the pressure that's going on in that area, while giving birth. Also because sometimes while giving birth you are heavily sedated and you just have to poo and you can control yourself..when giving birth your in a very vulnerable stage.
Why? Because you are pushing so hard that if it's there..it will come out!
actually pooing during birth is rare unless ur induced or premature. nature prepares ur body for birth, so up to a week before u give birth u may have diarrhoea or poo more than usual, this is to clean out ur system so u dont poo during the birth. also it enables u not 2 poo for several days after the birth, very good if u have had stitches.
i had 2 babies and never pooed, i had a strange diarrhoea a few days before giving birth and had stitches both times i gave birth. i then had several days after the births where i didnt need 2 poo. and trust me it's scary pooing when u have stitches!
Some women, poo right before birth and that is your bodys way of getting rid of any toxins. If you poo during it could be the pushing, but most women I know, did not poo during the labor, just before they go in. Some hospitals if they know you are in labor will give you something to make you poo, so you won't during the actual pushing!
because the pressure from the babies head pushes it out as he comes down and also because you are pushing so hard that blood vessels could blow in your face .LOL
It didnt happen to me, just try and make sure you go before you get to hospital.. while your in labour or if you are lucky like i was my waters broke then i went to hospital with no contractions until 5 hours later so i had time to make sure i was empty!
Because you're pushing. if you sit on a toilet and push for long enough even if you aren't pregnant if you have eaten anything recently you'll poo even if it is just a little bit. Same thing.
Your pushing like you have to take a "poo". You can also pee because you are pushing so hard.
Bcz u r pushing down as u push down to do the poo. But,everyone doesnt poo. Some woman does.
not all women do .. it all depends on what you've eaten before you go into labor.. i didn't and i was eating a steak when i went into labor
WOULD HELP IF YOU SPELL BLOODY uk_girl2 you muppet!
Thats a nasty thing to say!
because you are pushing...
Because you push on the same muscles as the ones you use to poo. its quite common.
i would recon its because the baby pushes on your rectum when you give birth and if there is excrement in there it will come out. and your kinda pushing as well.
Nothing more than pressure from baby. You used to get 'cleaned out' in the good old days, but now it seems to be left to chance! My 2nd baby was slow at getting out but apparently the pressure from the baby emptying my bowels was what helped. Thankfully I didn't know I'd done it at the time. I was told later when the notes were being revised. Just as well - there was enough loss of dignity at the time without being aware of that too!
Edit. uk girl2 - you're answers on the pregnancy and parenting questions are a bit monotenous. Why are you bothering?! Considering how you appear to hate children so much, you should stop acting like one.
cos ur pushing so bloody hard an the baby's head is squashing everything to get out. we all do it dont worry lol
It's actually caused by the size and pressure of the head coming out literally pushing everything out of your colon. Not a nice prospect but it's the last thing on your mind at the time to be honest and the midwives just get rid of it and carry on regardless.. they're seen much worse!
