Help..?

i got a Mirena iuc fitted after my son was born 11months ago. since then i have not had a period. The doctor reasured me it was as good as being sterile, but my partner and i decided to use protection anyway.
A few times we forgot but thought it would be ok as im virtually sterile.
a week ago i felt movements in my stomach, exactly the same as when i was pregnant the first two times.
I went to the doctors and she couldnt belive that i could even think i was pregnant as the possibilitys are so slim, but she told me to do a sample to be sent away to the lab' anyway.
Every night i get a feeling like kicking..So how far along would i be?(ive forgotten)
Also in the leaflet for the Mirena iuc it tells you something about advising abortion if you do fall pregnant with it fitted because of the homones in the iuc.
But my biggest problem is im completely against abortions unless nesacery, which this would be, but i dont think i could cope with it mentaly. wot do you think is going on?

Answers:
babies start kicking at about 16 weeks
good luck with the baby
I think you're letting your mind race, and worrying way too much.
Muscle spasims will create kicking sensations too.and that's what I think's goin on with you.
I just finished asking the same question, what happens if you are pregnant while on the IUD? I really do not understand it, because some people have told me that most likely your child would be in the tubes, how accurate this is, I have no idea. I mean, you start feeling movement of your baby around four months or so, but maybe it is not that. I mean, if you are pregnant, I know that it is tough, but you should really try to keep it, because if you are, despite the fact that you were using a contraceptive, that baby is there for a reason.
If you are against abortions, you should look into how that IUD works. You would probably have it removed immediately anyway.

I have no clue what's going on, as I am not a dr., but as a mom, I wish you the best.
a fried of mine got pregnant on the IUD. she had the IUD removed and had a healthy baby girl
Stay calm until you get the test results. It shouldn't take that long. If you are not pregnant, you need to remove the device as may be causing spasms in some way. But don't stress until you know for sure. If you are pregnant, would you be able to deal with the possible birth defects? You will or will not have to answer this question depending on what your test result is. Take good care of yourself in the meantime.
i also feel movement in my stomach but the pregnancy test can back negative
my docter said that it is possible of stomach gas or even stomach spasums
it is possible that you are alsp feeling the same
wait on the results from your docter and if you happen to be pregnant i would keep it and love it the same
I think you are hysterical, but that's okay. I have an IUD and almost every month I worry that I'm pregnant, because I am.the way it works is it keeps the egg from implanting properly. You would have to be like 5-6 months along to feel kicking and I'm pretty sure you would also have had some other symptoms before that. I know how you feel, maybe you should get your tubes tied so you don't have to worry. Best wishes
I, too, had a mirena fitted several years ago. It was not for protection but to control my periods which it has done with great success- I no longer have periods.
When I met a new a partner recently I, like you, was unsure how to gauge a pregnancy, as if you do not miss a period how can you tell?
Now, as a mature woman, I ask- how do I tell if I am in the menopause?
No one can really give me the answer.
AS to being pregnant- have you had the result yet? I cannot think of anything else that would give you peace of mind except getting that negative result as I think it is highly unlikely that you are.
No one should force you into a termination against your will if it is found that you are pregnant, and I have witnessed lots of births from women with IUDs and they have been ok.
I wish you luck, and hope this has helped!
Do a home test to be sure. It is possible for the IUD to have been fitted incorrectly. This happened to me with the Merina and I got pregnant - although I knew nothing about it until I miscarried (sorry, don't mean to be pessimistic). If you are pregnant it is possible to have the IUD removed and for you to proceed with the pregnancy.

Good luck :-) xx
I'm not sure. I've never used one. But I would think a home pregnancy test would be in order first of all. I can't believe they couldn't do the preg test right there in the office! Good luck to you either way. If you are pregnant, maybe it was meant to be. A gift from God.
I thnk that your just paraniod. The mirena is pretty reliable. If you honestly think you are take a home pregnancy test, to reassure yourself. I personally don't believe in abortion either. Could it be taken out if you happen to be pregnant?
i have the mirena and had the same thing as you thought i felt movements but it turned out to be just a really bad case of indegestion it was very bad wind
It could be your imagination or muscle spasms in your body. There have been cases of "hysterical pregnancies" where a woman has displayed symptoms of pregnancy because she has been so convinced she's pregnant.

The chances of the IUD and condoms failing is slim, except if the IUD was fitted incorrectly and you ovulated on those few times you forgot to use a condom. I think the chances are quite small.

A home pregnancy test would be the first step for me but at least you've had a test done. You should know either way soon.

If the test is positive and you are pregnant, there is nothing that says you have to have an abortion. It is not compulsary, only advised. I think you are working yourself up into a panic when you don't even know if you are pregnant. Calm down, take a deep breath or ten. Cross that bridge when you come to it. Your doctor will be able to give you all the information you need.

Good luck and I hope you get the result you want.
I often get feelings at night similar to a baby kicking, (i have had 3) would be worth having a test though just to put your mind at rest.
I too had a mirena iud placed two months after my daughter who is now four months old, was born. I also have a two year old boy and my daughter was a surprise. Latetly I have also been feeling movement in my stomach and have not had my period since march. I took several home pregnancy tests the first one came out questionable as there was a very thin line where there should have been a thick one and all the rest came out negative.so am i pregnant or not? i also worry about what i would do if i were as i have my hands full already but dont really want an abortion eitheranyway good luck with every thing and if you have any suggestions or answeres please let me know
