Does anyone know how teenagers are using the word 'Burn' as slang?

.and can you construct me a couple of example sentences?

Answers:
A burn book is a book that you can 'burn off' thoughts and feelings about people. She propbably made one after watching a film called 'Mean Girls'. That's where the term came from. If you watch the film, it will all be explained! A burn book can be quite harsh if other people find it and they are in it. Have a look at this summary and it will briefly explain the film..

like av u got a burn?(ciggie)
An exclamatory response, generally used by a third party after someone has just received an insult.

"She said she hates you? Oh, BURN!"
burn is like "gotcha"

for example, if you insult someone, and its amusing, some could yell "BURN!" at them like yelling "they got you there!"

watch the show "that 70's show" they use that term ALL THE TIME, especially the "dumb jock" charature, Kelso.
for us(burn) is when some one hurt you and I would say that they really burn me. may be talk with other kids too that would help.
Well you can approach her without knowing exactly what it is, because bottom line she is writing nasty things about other people. Which is not cool. I would focus more on that.

But yeah, a burn is like when girl A (Sally) says something to girl B (Janice) mean like about her clothes, her hair, etc..and the Sally's freinds all say "Nice burn!"
A burn book is where you and your friends get together and write (burn) someone you hate, you write alot of mean things about them in the book and poss even show people it to embarass them
"Burn" is like the word "ouch, that hurt--" as in that comment hurt. Your daughter's burn book is like a slam book. So, If I was watching an argument, this would be how to use "burn":
Aruguer # 1- "Well, you're stupid"
Arg. # 2- "Yeah, your mother is [insert any nasty word here you'd like]
Me- Ooh, Burn.
I'd say burn if the other person couldn't find a comment to top that.
Oh hun,in this case it is more of making comments about people who she dislikes, and who she likes. As long as she doesnt act on these, she is expressing herself in the privacy of her room.Although, her writing nasty comments about others could get out of control and she could really get into trouble should she act on them. What i would suggest you do is simply sit her down and speak to her.Explain how hurtful it can be to one when another says something nasty and rude to them.Explain to her that she should accept everyone equally, each person is different, and that thing in which she sees negative about them encourage her to turn that into something positive.Even if she isnt best friends with the person, still encourage this.It will,in a way open up her mind to people who are different without being judgemental.I think you should make her get rid of this "burn book" also.Possibly,"burn" it,literally. If someone found this many people could get hurt.In a way,if they found this book it is a sort of bullying.I suggest, that you take action before it really gets out of hand.Tell her it is unacceptable behaviour to judge others and encourage her to speak each person without judgement.Good luck.

In this form "burn" simply means "bad things" about that person.
it's a slam book with everyon in her schools name in it and people leave comments.if found by her principal or a teacher she will be suspended and possibly expelled...it happent to 3 people i know..tell her to get rid of it a.s.a.p
it means that the person was just insulted "burned"
if you were fighting w/ someone (verbal) and they said like YOUR MAMA! all the people around yell BURRRRRRRRRRRN! got it
When you do something and end up falling flat on your face (not literally!) or if you hear a story about a guy cheating on his girlfriend or something like that, you say 'Crash and Burn', and 'Burn' is short for that.
Ok a teacher said for his students to hand there papers to someone less intelligent to grade them, and as a joke a bunch of students handed them to me. Someone could say burn they, because they were impling something bad about someone is all i can say.
well none of by friends say it and im 14 but it is other wise its like an insult, you say it after youve said the insult like if the insult is really good.
It's from Mean Girls (The Film). A Burn Book is a book you write bad stuff about people in.
I dont weather its the same as here in spain but when my friend says it to for example to a boyfrind it means he has burnt himself meaning he has landed himself in the shite and therefore is dumped. If my friend says it to another one of our friends it usually means that the friendship is over because they have messed her about or spoken behind her back or something.
