What do you think about hypnobirth?

Answers:
I'm a little unsure about doing anything hypnotized. I'd wanna be fully aware of my surroundings and all the goings on..
Wouldn't you like to be right there when your special bundle arrives?
Yeah, it hurts like hell, but there are other drugs they canj give you..lol
I wouldn't go through hypnobirth.
Probably a good way to avoid painkillers and have a natural birth but I think you'd want to be conscious as its a special thing when you give birth even though it hurts.
I've never had a hypnobirth, but I've done lots of hypnotherapy, and I think it would be a good idea that I'm planning on trying myself in a few months. Most of the hypnotherapy comes long before the labor to prepare you to stay cool when the time comes. You'll be totally aware of everything that's happening during the labor - you'll just have trained your mind to handle it in a peaceful way where it doesn't interpret the pain as intense pain, but as work that you and your body can handle. In some ways, I think it might make you MORE present, because it'll keep you focus and not too wrapped up in how much it hurts.
Please let us know how it works for you!
I've heard hypnobirth works. It's just taking relaxation to the next level.

You WILL be conscious and active when it's time for your baby to arrive. It's not like someone comes in and hypnotizes you and you're consciously not there throughout the whole thing.

Here, click on this link and read about it. It's basically a "naturally induced state of relaxed concentration.." You can also read the advantages and testimonials as you progress through the site through their "next" button at the bottom of their page.

Good Luck!
I'd never heard of this but that's interesting for you to raise this question.

Hypnosis is not what you think it is. Hypnosis is portrayed on TV making people think that they're chickens and then having no recollection of what occured. In reality, it's just a state of mind that causes you to be more easily open to suggestion, though you are completely concious and well aware of what you are doing. A hypnotist can never make you do something that is not normally in your character to do. Relying on hypnosis for the birthing process is pretty much the same as learning lamaze or other non medication techniques of concentration and relaxation.
