Is it normal to 'leak' urine after you have just had a baby?
i gave birth two days ago and had 2 have stiches inside pluss a catheter bag.
Answers:
Yes, it's very common. It's also common that when you sneeze very hard, you'll also pee a little. If it gets too severe though, you should notify your doctor immediately. Start doing your Kegel exercises right away. You'll be glad you did. Don't worry unless you notice it worsening.
Good luck and congrats on the new baby!
Yeah nothing to worry about. as soon as you can resume your pelvic floor exercises and things should return to normal soon enuf.
yes it can be normal. Your body down there just pushed out a huge baby. It will take time for your body to gain muscle in there again to help control your bladder. But if you are very concerned you can call your doctor and ask if everything with the catheter went OK.
Yes it is, your pelvic floor muscles are weakened after childbirth, you can strengthen these by clenching like you are trying to stop your self peeing, hold for 5 seconds and repeat, then hold for longer each time.
You may be leaking at the moment because of your catheter.
yes your bladder is streched so give it a month or two and remember to do kegal exercises that will help
For about a week I would leak urine if I didn't go every 2 or 3 hours. The first few days I also had problems with my bowel. Now, (16 months later) I have a steel bladder again. I can hold it all day long and drink whatever I want.
yes is it dont worry atall your vagina just got strected big enough for a baby those musles wont start working again for a few weeks
Yes..remember everything has had tremendous pressure put upon it plus the stretching. After you get the catheter out.always do your pelvic muscle exercises..this will keep everything tightened.try peeing and mid flow.squeeze the muscle.then start peeing again.good luck
yes very normal . just change your pad alot. and talk to your ob if it lasts longer than a week. i had it and i had a c-section and emergency bladder surgery
yes. as soon as you are able you should start your "keigel" exercises again to help strengthen everything up..but just think about everything your body jusr went through... of course your muscles there will be a little lax...Check out the book :

Absolutely normal! Don't worry about this at all. Just enjoy your baby! What a blessing!
Sure it is, everything down there has been stretched out of shape and will take a while to come back to normal. Good news is that it will and you will be fine again.
Yes it is unfortunately. It took a few months for it to basically go away and you will figure out how to deal with it before it does. It may sound wierd, but after I had the baby I found that if I rocked back and forth a few times I was able to get those last few drops out which saved me from having it leak out in my pants later on. Congrats on the new baby. I am due to have my second in a few days.
you should be spending time with your baby not on here!!
good luck!
yes it normal you are all stretched out it takes time for everything to go back to normal
yes I did for a few days they had a pad under me at the hospital they would change 2 time a day

yes not to worry
This is normal.
Yes, it is normal to leak a little. Your uterus needs time to shrink back to it's normal size. By the time you go in for your 6 week check-up, most things will be back to normal.
yea you'll be like that for a little while.after the stitches are out do Kegal exercise for you PC muscle to get back into shape
You can leak urine after delivery of a baby. If the labour was prolong or the presentation and position of the baby was badly placed there will be injuring to the bladder or during the delivery process there is a opening from the bladder to the vagina due to poor produce of delivery, this is know as fistula and it can be treated by surgery
Don't worry its all part of having a baby. Wait until your nipples start to leak. After your 6 week check up start your pelvic excises this will help you alot. xx
Yes it is normal it will get better. Down there has just been through a lot of trauma.
It's normal. After the baby arrives, everything becomes looser. You may even leak urine if you sneezed.

CONGRATULATIONS ON THE BIRTH OF YOUR BABY
Lets be realistic, you have just pushed something the size of a grapefruit out of the opening the size of a lemon, and by the sound of it had a bit of a hard time, you will fine and it is completely natural for things to be a bit like that. In your pregnancy you have a hormone called "relaxin" which is released to help your cervix dilate during labour, sometimes this can make you "leak" urine as the hormone has not left your body yet.
If by the time you have been signed off by your midwife at 10ish days mention it to her and see what she thinks
I hope you are back to health soon and congrats again
yes
i am not to sure,,, but your midwife should be able to tell you. Congratulations on the birth of your baby
Of course it is. You have been stretched to your limit when giving birth and your muscles need a little time to go back to normal. Try doing little exercises inside. When you are sitting, standing or walking contract your vagina wall muscles for about 10 mins a day. It will help.
