13mth old baby just pooed in the bath a 2nd time!! why?!!?

Answers:
OMG my daughter did that a week ago - it was disgusting. One moment I'm daydreaming and thinking what to have for tea, the next, she's holding something up at me with a bewildered expression. I had to pick it all out of the bath plug. Lovely. Can't remember what I had for tea.. perhaps I opted out.
it needed to go!
they get really relaxed in the bath tub. totally natural
It's all nice and warm and relaxed. My third child was the only one who ever pooped in the tub, and she did it twice before she didn't do it again.
I been hearing a lot of that these days..my son NEVER did that. Whats going on ?
Warm water is, for some reason, very good at making kids poop. If this is becoming a regular habit, you might move bath time to give the baby time to poop in the diaper.
babies will do that before they are potty and poo trained my little boy didnt get trained tell 2yrs.
The warm water relaxes the muscles down there. The use this technique to help with constipation sometimes.
At 13 months they have no control over their bowels, when they have to go, they have to go! You should feel flattered that baby has pooped in the bath, must be feeling very relaxed, confident and safe!
It just happens with some kids and not with others. Don't worry at all. Go to webmd.com if you want to read more about it.
Water ir relaxing and the time of day is probably her regular time for now..it will change don't worry try leaving her 10 mins longer before putting in the bath or get out of the bath a bit quicker it will only take a couple of days to get out of the habit... Good Luck..My daughter did it twice to and her 5 yr old brother thaught it was "Gross"!!
Their bath is a soothing time for some. My daughter would also do that. After a few times, we brought out the poddy chair and stuck her on it. She went poo in it almost nightly when we turned the water on in the tub. It worked well for us.
The warm water makes them relax and when they feel calm they get themsleves together and go for it specially if you bath them in evening after tea and warm drink.
I'm sure they do it to annoy us, my boys used to do it all the time!!!!!!!!!!!
My daughter did that a few times when she was that age. I think the warm water of the tub and her playing and splashing around gets things moving. When she started to do this I just learned that I needed to wait till after she went and then I would give her the bath. She has not done that in quite a while now and she is 2. In time the baby will develop a sort of pattern for when she goes and you will be able to schedule a bath time better and she will also have a little more self control later on.
They don't have any control yet of when they have to go, or at least they don't know they aren't supposed to go in the bath tub. Maybe the bath relaxing. My daughter used to do that all the time to me when she was about 4-5 months old. She's now 15 months. She hasn't done it yet (knock on wood), but I just try to keep track of the time of day she has bowel movements and work around it. I give her a bath at night, and she usually has a bowel movement after she eats dinner so I just wait until she goes and then get her bath ready so once I've cleaned her bottom, I stick her in the tub. Good luck!
Because they can. he is so young right now, he doesn't care. Come on, they sit in poopy diapers for however long without too much problem.
The warm water relaxes the muscles down there. so there for it makes them more likley to poo try getting on the loo before he goes for a bath
its most likely because the babies Sphincter muscle is being relaxed from the warm water and it just comes out
Nothing to worry about. The change on temperature sometimes makes you want to pee too! Just that baby is relaxed and the bowel empites, as baby has no control yet!
The warm water relaxes their tummies!
My daughter did it 3 times (She's 19 months now, grown out of it!)
I don't think it's a serious thing (apart cleaning the bath after. yuk!) but if your worried talk to your Health Visitor or Doctor.
He should grow out of it, until then get your Rubber Gloves on girlie!
Good Luck xxx
Babies bowels and bladder relax in water, there is nothing you can do to prevent this as such a young age. Take a fishing net to the bath with you!
Theres nothing to worry about this its just normal to him as he doesnt know the rights and wrongs. Hes still learning alot of things and thats where you come in. You could say to him thats not nice and tell him he should do that in his nappy, praise him if hes has. My daughter has done this a few times and wees but its up to me to learn her that its not right. Shes 14 months old. good luck xx
Hah my daughter does this occasionally. More so when she was younger. But the warm water and movement in the water (playing sliding around and such) help move the bowels. Thats why you're getting a poopy tub.

Glad to know its not only mine doing it! Break out the lysol!
lol my little boy has never done it so i cant suggest nothing really i just found it funny bless him good luck
My son is 15 months old and has done it a couple of times, i know that people on here are probably right and its because they are so relaxed but i know when he has done it i have been anything but relaxed. I know i prob opened a can of worms for myself because when i was pregnant with my son i was bathing my sons little boy and out of curiosity i asked her if he had ever pooed in the bath and she said no and then a couple of days later while i was there i went in the bath. I thought it was hilarious and was rolling around on the floor laughing while she was ringing everyone she knew in a state.
Well you know what they say about karma eh?
I think a lot of it is to do with the fact that he's warm and comfortable and when he goes, he doesn't know it's the wrong place to do it. Don't forget all his feeding patterns are starting to change now. It's difficult to try and judge when a baby will need to go and relieve themselves. Trust me, I have 5 kids and each one is different
its a warm happy place. why not?
he has no control over his bowels yet and hasn't a clue whats happening, except the water feels nice and warm and well.. all relaxes! try not to worry too much, change your routine completely if it bothers you, bathe early morning instead, I guess the children are about 2 before they begin to understand 'poo' and before they become aware of a feeling of it coming, they still can't control it though! when they can and it finds it's way into a potty you will be asking us how to stop him playing with it then! have fun with your baby, a bit of poo at the wrong time of day is nothing to worry about, honest xx
