Why is it called the birds and the bees?
bit of a strange way to describe it so why is this so?

That is a good question really but as some1 earlier said its a nice way to explain about the opposite sex.
I think because it sounds nice so when parents are explaining the birds and the bees to their children its not as scary as the word sex, but also its nature and sex is part of nature which also the bids and the bees are part of. But it could from a song, many years ago.

i wonder that too. I though well bees sting so it must be the dude. And birds r us. I just questioned it cuz i need to talk to my step daugther bout sex which she's 9 and my 4 year old like to be apart of our conversations. I thought to explain it would be the story of the birds and da bees.But what is the actual story? Who came up with it? Y a Bee and a Bird? besides the question i couldnt answer for my 9 year old. Sex talk is hard when it's ur babies u raise (step or biological) but to there friends fine!
