I know how you feel. I had the same thing when I was around 5 weeks. My doctor told me that the cramping was the uterus shifting and stretching, preparing for the baby. The brown discharge was old blood that was being expelled from the body. It's nothing to worry about. But if you get major pains in your abdomin or are actively bleeding (red blood), call a doctor immediately!

Try not to worry too much. Congrats on the baby and good luck!
I would call your obgyn, they usually have someone on call. if an answering service answers, ask them to page a doctor. better safe than sorry! good luck!
Sometimes, this happens when the baby is attaching. Did they say that there was anything wrong?
You need to relax, this could cause a miscarriage.
Well, only a doctor can tell you. However, some cramping during pregnancy is normal. I'm not sure about the discharge though. Best of luck to you tomorrow xox
yes you do
it is possible that you are only spotting seeing that you are only 5 weeks. But it is a good idea to get this checked out as soon as possible. I have heard of this happening to other women and they didn't have a miscarriage just try to take it easy and rest till you can see the doctor
i had this happen, but it was my third pregnancy, and everything turned out normal. It would help if you kept your feet up and tried to relax. I know easy for me to say. If i rember correctly, brown spotting isn't a huge worry. Only bright red. Did they run a test for std's? that could cause it too, but they don't normaly run those test's if you don't ask. Good luck honey. My thought's are with you
I'm not trying to scare you even more. But I had a miscarriage on July 20 I went to the doctor because of spotting and my cervix was closed. Three days later it happened. I knew something because a day before it was brown then bright red and then it stopped. There is a website I joined and its wonderful for pregnancy. www.babyzone.com click on the community and they are boards you can join. However, some on there had spotting and even heavy bleeding and had healthy baby's.
you are going to make yourself ill worrying, many women bleed throughout pregnancy, yes, when you see blood or discharge it needs to be checked out, until you have this done just take things a bit easier, sensible stuff like, no vaccuming, it uses the muscles in abdomen, no lifting, no stretching. Put your feet up when you can.If you are going to mis carry, then there will be a reason for it, usually mother natures reasons, baby not forming right etc, this happens and women need to be strong to deal with it. However, once you have this checked out and given the ok, enjoy your pregnancy and try not to worry.
go to the doctors asap.
ithink it is normal 2 have cramps in early pregnancy....your bleeding sounds like implantation bleeding(where the embryo is planting itself in2 the uterus)... a mis carriage bleeding is dark red and 9 times out of 10 there will be clots...good luck, if your worried about anything go straight 2 the er...x
I had the same feelings when I had just found out that I was pregnant, I had stomach cramps so bad I was convinced I was going to miscarry, and when those were accompanied by the brown blood, I really started to worry that my worst fears were being realised.but I had a fantastic little girl who is now 16 months old.

You're just experiencing normal pregnancy related pains, but if you are still unsure, I recommend that you go back to your doctor to put your mind at rest- it will definitely make you feel a whole lot better to hear these words from a doctor.

Good luck for the rest of your pregnancy! I wish you all the best for the future.
