Have you had a pre-pregnancy checkup with your Dr? You can ask them to check all of your hormone levels just to make sure everything is ok. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism at my pre-pregnancy checkup. The Dr basically told me that I was probably not even ovulating because my thyroid was so out of control. It only took a few weeks to get my thyroid back to the normal range.

Also, have you used any ovulation tests to confirm that you are in fact ovulating?

There's a great book called Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler and it teaches you how to chart your cycle. Basically, you use a Basal Body Thermometer every morning at the same time before you get out of bed. When your temperature goes up by .2 degrees, and stays high, it means you have ovulated. Before charting, I thought I was ovulating on day 14 but it turned out that I only ovulate on day 20 of my cycle. Timing intercourse close to ovulation really helps your chances of conceiving.

Even though the first baby was really easy to conceive, it's possible that there is some medical explanation as to why you're not conceiving as quickly this time. Even the most healthy "perfect" people can take up to a full year to conceive, but if there is some problem to be addressed, it would be better to address it sooner rather than later.

Hope that helps and good luck to you.

Mari

I have no idea!! I'm dealing with the same thing right now. Last time i got pregnant i just missed a few pills t his time.mother nature put everything to a BIG halt.i mean i know everyone says when its your turn itll happen.but I thought I got to decide when and where i wanted to have a baby...Ive been trying for a year..and i mean i must give much applause to the ones who been trying longer then me! I'm already so damn frusterated lol..well goodluck to you! BaBy DuSt!!
I have read that even if conditions are perfect, there is only a 1 in 4 chance of getting pregnant every month. Then there are all the other factors that could make conditions 'not perfect'. Lifestyle is important. For example, I'm not saying you do these things, but alcohol consumption and smoking can all reduce the chances of fertility, as can poor nutrition. There are many good preconceptual care programmes out there that you can read about on the net that can increase chances of conceiving naturally.
It's easier said than done, but try not to get stressed as stress makes your body think it is in danger and non-life saving functions such as fertility as downgraded.
Good luck!
Claire, to get pregnant you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released.

After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex. Tell your husband to ejaculate on his inward thrust so that the sperms will shoot deep inside.

After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up with a pillow under your buttocks so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.

Get your husband to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 3 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.
One of my friends has 2 kids & she's thinking of having a 3rd & she's having probs. For her 2 kids she pretty much fell straight away - I think sometimes your body just plays silly b*ggers - I know mine does! he he

I know this isn't much help - sorry - I just wanted you to know there are people out there in the same situation.

xx
Try not having sex every day if you are--the male's sperm needs to replenish and mature. Every 2-3 days is better. Also read up on ovulation and when the body normally releases eggs. Take the time to pay attention to your cycle. Generally you will release an egg about 7-14 days after the 1st day that your period started. Those are the ideal days to have intercourse. Sperm can live for up to three days so that is another reason not to have sex every day! TRY to relax, worry can make things worse--easier said than done. You are young and generally at your age you are not considered to have fertility problems unless you have been trying for over a year. You must have timed it just right by chance that 1st time, but don't let that make you think something is wrong this time round! Your MD should be able to offer some info on your cycle/ovulation if you ask.
Simple answer; that's life! It will happen but, it's very unlikely that you would fall pregnant in exactly the same amount of time for each pregnancy you have whether that's 2, 3, 4 times.whatever. Don't stress and good luck.
good luck. ive been trying for 4 years but docs won't help coz they think im too young to want to have kids
Are you using any tests to check for your ovulation? Maybe that might help you a bit.
Good luck!
