Does anyone have any tips on how to make teething easier?
my daughter is 10 weeks old and has got her 2 front teeth coming thru. i have been to the docs with her but the teething gel he gave us doesnt appear to be working, and because of her age there isn't much else we can give her. i have heard about putting dummies and teethers in the fridge but she doesnt like cold things. Any suggestions ?!

I used teething granuals. The make was Nelsons, but Boots do their own too.
Good luck.
my kids both enjoyed chewing on washcloths. They liked the feel of texture against their gums and it helped the teeth break through. Good luck!
YOU CAN GET SOME HERBAL TEETHING POWDER FROM YOUR CHEMISTS.CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT IT'S CALLED BUT IT WORKS AND IS HARMLESS.
for my child i gave her a soft ring that she can hold it easily and chew it as much as she want and a cloth by her neck to keep her dry.
um, give her something to gum on, like, maybe a clean rag or something like that, maybe a towel that's not fluffy.
Homoeopathic chamomilla! Amazing stuff - never had a problem with this - all the parents I get to use this swear by it!
there is a natural remedie u can get its called NELSONS TEETHA there granules u massage on baby gums, very good i highly recomend them
Omigod! poor baby and poor you! I used Ashton and Parsons teething powders. They were a godsend! You put half a powder on their tongue (a wee bit fiddly but worth it) or what I used to do was, I wet my (clean) finger from their mouth and dabbed it in the powder then rubbed it on their gums, it calmed them down and settled their tummy and made my life a wee bit easier. bless.
We like Hylands teething tablets and Boiron teething drops. Both are homeopathic and can usually be found in the natural or baby section of a grocery store. I have also heard that amber teething necklaces work well.
With my son, the only thing that worked for long periods of time was ground cloves. I used a slightly damp Q-tip to dip into a container of ground cloves and rubbed it on his gums. He loved it, and it worked longer than the teething gel.
The American Indians used cloves as an antiseptic and numbing agent. Just be careful not to use too much, because whatever the cloves touch will go numb. This works great for tooth aches too.
I have a son that is now 2 and I find that him (and my sisters daughter) enjoy biting on ''chew toys'' that you can usually get pretty easily (and cheap) at most supermarkets. Usually made of soft plastic or durable rubber, sometimes filled with water. Much luck with your newborn.
hi you can try the Jin Feng San (normally kids take this when they are frighten, you can get it at the chinese medical shop, if possible look for the brand Mudan, coz it taste sweet and cooling, apply on her gums of the new teeth area as and when you think she's feeling uncomfortable due to the new popping teeth, it will helps her feeling beta and also letting the teeth to grow faster. My 2 kids had the same experience too, Jin Feng San helps them a lot.
Take a cold, wet clean face cloth and rub the baby's gums. This will clean the gums, your baby might chew on it - which is okay with supervision. A clean, wet rag will help keep your baby's gums clean, which will get the germs away, which helps with teething. My baby was teething with almost no pain at all - because of keeping the gums clean, and rubbed. Good luck. Hope it works.
Vodka and Tequilla.. for you.. You can share with dad too if he needs a bit.
Orajel and a lot cold teething rings for baby. You can also try a wash cloth or other semi soft item for gnawing on.. Also try getting a hard rubber pacifyer.
Baby Orajel works great. My son also likes chewing on a washcloth.
Ashton and Parsons teething salts are brilliant. They worked a treat on my child. It calms them down and they sleep better. I can highly recommend them as my child had real bad teething trouble. Also bikky pegs, they tie onto the child's top and they can hold onto it and chew, very safe and eases the pain. If they don't work my mum always said a bit of whisky on the gum! Good luck
c if u can rub some anbosol on her gums, i used it on my kids and it worked great cos it was liquid and not the gel stuff that i thought just slid right off their gums, u can get it at the chemist but check what age its suitable from first. or try calpol, its a miracle worker!!
Ashton & Parsons powders are good - Gave to my son
Bonjela & Calpol (both together will change your life) are from 3 months but gave to my son earlier but in smaller doses than for 3 month old baby. (She is only just over 2 weeks off 3 months)
Give her the dummy or teethers, as she can still chew on them and there is no danger of her swallowing anything she should not. (my son would not take anything that was cold in his mouth)
my son started teething at 12 weeks n we tried all the teething gels on the market n didnt like teething rings, so we were told to try by a friend a thing called ANBESOL liquid it is a antiseptic and anaesthetic in one. it comes in a liquid or gel but the liquid is better for teething babies n children just put a small bit on your finger n rub on the gum it works wonders for my son i give a dummy after n he nods off to sleep!
My daughter started teething early aswell, i use Dentinox teething gel with her and it helps a bit and Calpol, from 2-3 months you can give half a sachet then from 3 months upwards a full one but i kept her on half until about 4 1/2 months. I also found at this early age most teething rings were just too big for her little mouth until i found the Tommee Tippee Gummy Soother, it looks kinda like a dummy but is a teething ring specially designed for little hands and mouths, i didn't put it in the fridge, just held it for her as she couldn't quite manage on her own and she bit down on it, she's 5 months old now and still no sign of any teeth through yet and still likes the gummy soother along with absolutely any other object she can get in her mouth.
Good luck.
To my surprise my sons 2 bottom teeth have just come thru and he is the same age as ur daughter- provided she has had her first immunisation you can give her 2.5 ml of calpol. Also boots now sell teething powders- in the herby section. They worked for my first and they seem to be working for the little one. good luck i know its hard.
i swear by ASHTON AND PARSONS INFANT POWDERS, you can buy them in most chemists, they are herbal and there is nothing in them that would cause any harm.but they do work, in fact i used them on my 3 children and my 5 grandchildren and had no problems, they can also be used for other things as well as teething such as temperature and tummy aches,
i have recomended them to many people and they all now swear by them to,
they are also safe to give to very young babies.
good luck to you and your baby and i hope this helps you as much as it did me,
My little boy is 20 weeks old and is just getting 2 bottom teeth, and don't I know about it. He also doesn't like cold things and bongela nearly made him sick. So I tried herbal powders from either boots called alternatives teething pain relief with chamomilla in. or any chemist for Ashton and parsons which claims to carm there stomach and take away restless and fretfulness. highly recommend also try the cloths too they are about the size of a flannel. good question am also interested in the answers
