At what age do you give a toddler a pillow?
Answers:
12 months. That guy that said it will hurt their necks. DONT BE STUPID how the hell can a pillow hurt a neck. you dont use a adult pillow but a baby one. so it will work out to be the same.
And the other person that said SIDS is made up by a company has to be the dumbest thing ever said. So what did this "company" goes around the world killing babies when they sleep.. I got news for you U CANT AWAYS TRUST WHAT U READ ON THE NET (OR GOOGLE) so google this.
my sons were about 18 months when they got there first pillow. just get a firm one. good luck.
We waited for some signs that our daughter was ready for a pillow & watched as she napped with one for a few weeks before we let her sleep w/ one at night, she was just over 3
usally 2-3 years old////
I think that you should you should give your your toddler a pillow at the age of 2 because it might hurt the babies neck
Well I am not experienced with this sort of thing but the little girl I babysit isn't yet three years old and she has had a pillow since she was about 2 years old.
Basically when they move into a junior or single bed. They shouldn't really have one in a cot
Both of my son's slept on pillow since birth, use cotton ones. That whole SIDS campaign was started by a crib company to sell more beds google it and see for your self.
it's better not to give a pillow at all, but if you feel as if you should then it would be when they go into a bed.
at one years old
My health visitor recommended not using a pillow until my daughter was 12 months old as then their neck muscles are strong enough to avoid suffocation. Most of the baby books say the same thing as I read up on it when she was born cos her moses basket came with a pillow. (I didn't use it and ironically the label on it said not to be used before 12 months, so why was it sold with a newborn bed?!) My daughter is now 20 months old and has just started using one but only because she showed an interest. We've given her a very soft one so that it won't give her neck ache and she loves it.
it is said that children can have a pillow from 12 months, but i did not give my daughter one untill she was nearly 2 years old as i was worried about it suffocating her, i gave her one when she went into her big bed, said she was a big girl now and could have a pillow like mummy and daddy!!
my son is 20 months old and has just started sleeping with a small flat cushion he kind of adopted it himself and loves to cuddle it more than sleep on it. your toddler will let you know when they need one proberly when they have their own bed
No need for a pillow in a cot, so when they go into a bed, so around 2.
It really doesnt matter .. but usually around 3 .. they start using them.. my 1 yr old niece doesnt use one.. but its whatever you want to do.. just keep an eye on the younger babies..
my sons had a pillow since bout 11months and hes fine and flyin!
We have given our daughter a pillow sence the day she came home from the hospital, she has also had blankets in her crib sence she came home. She is now 11 months old and sleeps better when she has a pillow and blanket.
my daughter was 18 months when she started having a pillow. she was the same age when she had her first bed.
my son was around 18 months when he got his pillow, he kept taking his brothers at night and putting it in his bed! thats how i knew he was ready!
try letting him/her sleep with a pillow when he/she has their afternoon nap, see if he/she likes it and go from there!
good luck!
i think my little brother had one when he was 1 but im not sure. anyways good luck
i gave my granddaughter her first pillow at 2 years old to be on the safe side hope this helps
12 months plus is safe, i had one in my daughters cot from 18 months, but it always ends up at the other end of the bed, its just getting her used to the 'grown up' way of sleeping
