Dont leave it too late ,I had the unpleasent task of telling my Son the truth a couple of weeks ago, (hes 27 this year) he had sussed out about God , but he was heartbroken when I told him that Santa was also a fairy tale!

Wow! your daughter has proven to be a deep thinker. your job as an apparently caring parent is to be there and help her find answers to her thoughtful questions. its ok if you respond by encouraging her and saying, "thats such a smart question, let me think about it a little." Thats so much better than accidentally giving her an answer spontaneously thats not good or maybe wrong. never say ill tell you when your older. it just makes them more confused and frustrated.
as for that particular question, a good answer i would give is, "thats what makes G-d so special; he doesnt need parents like the rest of us. he's our parent, and He created the world in order to give out his goodness..." you can start from there and add in your own thoughts.
Its all about faith and if you read and pray and teach your child the same you will learn about God's word and have faith that he is true and you don't have to see to beleive so practice on prayer and stregthening your faith

just get her a childrens bible and hopefully it may answer a few questions for her! if this is really causing problems talk to ur local priest. perhaps she should join a sunday school!
