When u have twins will one be dumber than the other?
Are there any statistics or general ideas about one twin being less intelligent than the other? does this happen generaly?

Hi! I'm the mother of identical twins. Here's a few facts:
1. Identical twins are from one fertilzed egg that splits. They have the exact same DNA and typically score in the same range on intelligence tests.
2. Fraternal twins are from two seperate eggs that are fertilized at the same time. They are brothers/sisters who just happen to be born at the same time. They have the same chance of being more or less intelligent than each other as any other brothers/sisters that are born years apart.
3. Alot of times there is the tendancy to label twins. "She's the smart one" or "he's the athletic one" or "she's the good speller". There are studies that show that some twins, in an effort to carve out their individuality, will fit themselves into these categories. For example, if one twin is praised for her athletic ability the other twin might stop playing that sport and study harder. Making one the "smart" twin and the other the "jock" twin.
I hope this helps!
There aren't any statistics about it they both could be very intelligent or just the one it all depends on them and what they wnat to do
most siblings are of relatively the same intelligence level, unless there is a learning disability or other issue.
Twins do mature and grow in a slower rate than most single births. However, I don't think its a fact that one will be less intelligent than the other unless he/she had a traumatic pregnancy.
They are still individuals so I would assume they would have different intelligence, but not necessarily that different. One could have a learning disability and the other could be fine, or they could both be very smart.
NOOOOOOOOOOO
My wife and her twin are of similar mental capacity but as with other sibblings one has strengths that the other lacks.
in my experience yes! but it hasnt been proven or anything
not true
No and twins do not develop any slower than singletons. That is ridiculous. My twins are 14 (boy/girl) my pregnancy was uneventful. they were both full term and both are in honors class in HS.....
ive known a set of twins both having thier own personality , both as bright as a button one decided to go into music the other into computers which after getting a degree went to study cooking, it depends on thier upbringing hun its not genetic just encouragement to do thier best whom cares if they are not intelegent as most people
Only if one parent is stupider than the other...geez.
No they just grow up to be different. My boyfriend and his twin are 40; my boyfriend and I are a cohabiting couple with no kids, whereas his twin is a married father of 2, stepfather of 2 and grandfather of 1. My man is a biomedical scientist here in England, his twin an outdoor sports instructor in Scotland. Both are as happy and intelligent as each other, just they took different interests and opportunities in life.
where on earth did you here that, Ive twins and they are totally different from each other one is studying to be an account and the other is a child minder. having said that there is no reason why twins be less intelligent than the other .
