Contact your health visitor she can apply to the Children In Need appeal and try to get money for you , if you are successful and receive money you have to keep receipts . I know this because a friend of mine had 3 kids and no money for coats and boots for her children and her h.v told her of this and she was awarded money to buy the kids what they desperately needed . Give it a go .Good luck ..
P.S only applicable in the UK
I am not sure what you are asking for. The best opportunities you can give your son is to research autism and spend alot of time teaching him. I dont know his level of autism (as the scale is extensive) but I do know that (in Australia at least) there is alot of help available if you take the time to find it. Good luck.
Why don't you ask his father for some funding for your autistic child? Why can't you receive benefits from employment jobs?
Autism Society of America has chapters all over the country. You can look up your local chapter and find out if they have resources available for you or can point you in the right direction. Good luck.
My brothers child is autistic, and from the time he was diagnosed at about 4/ or 5 he gets LOTS of free stuff.. (we live in atlanta) but my brother receives a SSI Check for fim, $446.00 Monthly- he receives unemployment or disabled type check snce he will never be able to work and function properly- he gets $600.00- and he get a housing allowance! 300.00 monthly, ALSO free medical, foodstamps, free meds, free stuff at christmas, thanksgiving, and on and on, There is LOTS of help out there!
I guess the reason I get so ill about it, is cause my daughter is ADD- and has problems just getting through day by day- and we cant get nothing free! and HER medicine is over $200.00 a month!
Atlanta has a UNFAIR system anyways- when you have a job, and try to work hard then you cannot get any help--- but if you sit on your butt and say you cant work, or that you must stay home to care for your disabled child (as my brother does) then you can get EVERYTHING you want FREE!
Does your child have a social worker? If not then you need to get him one by contacting social services. They will help you find specialist education provisions and respite care for your son. Remember early intervention means better quality of life when your child is older. The benefits agency will be able to inform you of any extrabenefits that are available for you to claim. Good Luck
