1st Birthday party ideas?
Answers:
I had a joint party for my son (5) and daughter (1). We hired a bouncy castle for the older ones and had the usual party games and a pinata, they all loved it. Quite frankly the little ones won't care, they will just enjoy seeing the older kids running around. I made birthday cakes for both mine, but have you ever noticed that kids just eat the icing and leave the cake? I wish I had made a tower of cupcakes or a large batch of brownies and piled them up with a candle in top, would have been easier for me and the kids would have enjoyed it better! Good luck and have a fun day!
baby crawling contest..figure that is the best you are going to get..
oh these small kids wont remember anything.so its time for u'll mother to have a blast !.lol
some music..dance..food.etc etc.
im sure these kids will enjoy too
anyways..happy birthday to ur 1 yr old !.
Pass the parcel works for the older kids, and games like sleeping lions etc, for the babies, well Asda have a sale on and you can buy a ball pool and all the balls for under a tenner, safe for the babies!
Our boy (Andrew) turned one recently - and we didn't have a party. Partly because we didn't think he would appreciate it, and partly on recommendations from friends who felt that the 1st Birthday Party they had for their little lad was very much for the adults.
Our own situation wasn't helped that we live in the South East, my Parents in the North East and my wife's family in the South West and boy did I get some grief from the in-laws!
Don't think we're mean - we still gave him loads of presents, and opened all his cards with him - and even gave him his first trifle (he really didn't like the jelly), but at that age he is just as interested in the empty envelopes and wrapping paper.
The company of the other kids will be enough to keep the little ones entertained - so have a party for yourself, a pat on the back for getting your little man to his 1st birthay in one piece.
they will be more than happy with a few toys on the floor to play with, alo blowing bubbles would be a good idea
Have all the parents bring a baby picture of themselves at 1 1/2 or younger and put them up on a poster board then see how many each person gets right. Have small gifts for the closest 2.
Go to a craft shop and get some plaster to have each baby do a hand print in it. (the kits are nice but the bulk stuff is less expensive) I used plastic disposable salad bowls and they are inexpensive and just big enough for tiny hands. You can get some small decorative items to make them look cute and you can write the name on the bowl with perm. markers. If this is done before lunch they will be set enough to take home as a party favor.
Pastry cutting sandwiches..?
But don't think you it is too soon. I'd make only feeding-bottle. Sure, in England you are strange. To the children given pastry cutting sandwiches and to adult given diet.
Happy party
. . . it would be a good idea to invite your son . . .
make it simple. as they are only very young and do not understand just yet, pastry cutting sandwiches. bit young.leave that one for next year. have balloons. make things with cardboard as babues love cardboard they not really interested with presents just the wrapping paper. etc.. Just have fun.;. and have some adults over too.Hope your son has a very happy birthday, and gets spoilt rotten. xxx
Bearing in mind that a first birthday celebration is a landmark for parents rather than baby, celebrate by doing something 'childish' - such as going to Legoland. Everyone will love it, the baby's happy, and so will any other little ones be, and siblings can go too. Give everyone a disposable camera which you then get developed and put the pictures into a First Birthday album, and don't forget to take along the cake! If cost's a consideration then you could propose that everyone pays for themselves, bearing that in mind, or you could find something local to you - swimming party? Local wave pool?
When my little one was 1 we held a small tea party with family, small spread and a cake. No matter what you do they wont remember so keep it to a minimum. The only way they will remember is if you have a video recorder or plenty of film in the camera
Have a party for you, he won't know and won't care.
As they are all young they wont even remember it which is sad really. So its up to you to take as many photo's as possible so when he is 18 you can embarrass him. dont worry he will see the funny side of it.
I suggest you cater more for yourselves and friends as as your son gets older and starts to walk you'll be in big trouble.. Good Luck lol
I am not sure about foods but mini sausages go down well and don't make too much mess. To keep the little ones amused put a box of toys in the middle of the room and let them dig-in.
any thing you awnt
on our daughters first birthday we went out for a family day to the local aquarium, she absolutly loved it. we then spent time with family and friends. Her first Christmas she was a little older and we bought (obviously) loads of presents, but to top it off we got lots and lots of balloons and covered the whole floor with them, aside that she loves balloons she had a great time, probably more interested than the presents.
so i suggest that your boy has a favourite thing that makes him tick, be it balloons, bubbles, different coloured lights. Make the room that type of atmosphere. True he won't remember it later in life, but he will for a short time, and you will forever. make it special for him, but do spend some quality family time in celebration to your little one. if you have a camcorder, use it, don't stick behind it, get i stand or something so you are all in the scene.
