family aint they a pain in the (_!_). Can still have him for unfair dismissal im sure.
Your father should have been paying tax and insurance for you whilst you were working and therefore you would have been entitled to maternity pay!!. The benefits agency will probably want to know how you have been living over the past 2 years since I take it you have not been claiming any money, but other than that you will be entitles to Income Support which doesnt amount to very much im afraid and then neared the birth I think you can get a maternity grant to help you buy the essentials. When the baby is born child tax credit & Family Allowance.
We moan about immigrants coming here and taking money from our 'reserve stashes'.....you are doing just the same love.
You have worked without paying tax and insurance so why should you be entitled or even 'think' your entitled to anything??
If you don't have an income, I think there are benefits and tax credits you can claim, but the Job Centre is going to want to know what you've been doing for money for the past 2 years. They will probably find it a bit strange that you haven't been claiming benefits and now you are.
Really, your dad should be paying you maternity pay seeing as you have been working for him for that long, and it's completely illegal to sack a woman for being pregnant, but if there is nothing to say you have been working for him, you don't really have a leg to stand on.
You my dear are what we would call SOL. You will have to rely on benefits from the govt if that is the case as you did not work as far as the people in power know.
