What kind of society is this, that allows freedom of choice around abortion?
but when it comes to animals, we very clearly are not allowed to kill or terminate the life of say unborn kittens, or puppies.(cause they're so cute?) or they can't speak for themselves.what about unborn babies!!

This is a very big issue.
I feel that killing is bad FULL STOP.
Killing a child because of your own stupid mistakes is just absolutely out of order. If you had a one night stand, or forgot your pill, or couldn't be bothered with a condom - that's your own stupid fault.
But to kill a child because of that, is unspeakably horrific.
What about all these people who can't have children - if you can't bring up a child happily, then by all means offer the child for ADOPTION!
I am practically infertile myself, I have been trying for 6 months, but the doctors don't rate my chances very high, and when I look for at adoption, theres not much out there in my area.
Yet instead of helping these distraught people find the one thing they dream of, you irresponsible women are killing babies you got 'ACCIDENTALLY' by not being careful.
Abortion is unacceptable - you get pregnant through your own doing, and even if i was raped, and happened to fall pregnant, i could not give up my baby - I agreed with Little Mo in Eastenders for choosing the path she did. She endured something totally horrific, but as soon as you look at that tiny little thing, who is totally dependent on you, you'll wonder how you could ever have considered killing it, before it's even had a chance to live.
i think it`s rotten that when our pets are in pain we can put them out of their misery yet when it`s our loved ones they have to suffer x

Sorry? I've never heard of anyone performing an abortion on cats. I didn't think cat abortions was a big issue. I'll keep an eye out for it now.

i honestly think that in certain cases abortion is better than bringing the baby to the world and treating him/her like dirt. everytime you look at that baby you think he was a mistake.. thats nasty.. and i have seen people treat their children badly because they didnt want them in the first place !

I think unborn babies and "cute little" animals are in the same situation - neither of them "can't speak for themselves," but both are trying to be recognized and helped. I would love for the animals to get the same amount of coverage as the abortion issue - that way the situation of animal abuse would at least be better known, and hopefully stopped.

Unborn kittens and puppies (as you call them) are quite commonly removed at the vet's b/c the cat or dog can't manage the pregnacy.
Your use of the phrase "unborn babies" is a way to show your opinion i guess. There are people that would also call the same "thing " just being part of a woman's body up to a certain week or degree. (and therefore it's her choice)
I think if the mother dog turned around and said "I think this would interfere with my career" then an abortion would be accepted. However, there's the slight problem that dogs can't talk, and seeing as an abortion has to be the choice of the mother then it is impossible/unethical for us to make that choice.

But I can tell you for a fact.if you take your cat in to be fixed and they find that the cat has kittens(or whatever you call them in the womb) they will go ahead with the procedure and remove the uterus. Same with dogs. So isn't that abortion?
